My vote is for Terry Klassen. He's got that comical 'down on his luck' performance which suits Krillin to a punch. While Krillin IS the strongest human in DBZ, he's also the underdog of the Z-fighters, the one who gets the bad luck, the one who provides the comical relief (even though most of the characters provide comic relief) and Klassen's higher pitched voice also goes well with showing Krillin's small size.
Sonny Strait I thought just sounded not terrible but too plain.

Sonny and Mike were the best by far. Terry was pretty good, but Dan and that unknown voice actor kinda sucked.

Sonny Strait's voice makes Krillin both comical and a badass. My vote is for him.

Terry Klassen is the best. Sonny's version sounds like they tried to make Krillin sound tough with a raspier voice.

Klassen is THE BEST. Mike is also quite awesome. Sonny is a disgrace. Listen to how he doesn't match the JP voice AT ALL

@543re One doesn't have to match the JP voice exactly in order to be the best voice for a character. Sonny is the best one here while Klassen is one of the weakest. He overacted most of his lines way, WAY too much.

@543re By that logic then, none of the voices for Goku Gohan or Krillian work since they were all voiced by females. Its kind ignorant to say a voice isnt good because it doesnt match the japanese. The main part of voice acting is Acting, voice is just the secondary part. If it was about matching, then a lot of male anime characters wouldn't be voice by males at all.

@543re none of them match the japanese, because the original voice for krillin was a woman, just like Goku. if it was all about matching the voice of the original then a lot of dubs would have chicks doing the voice or male characters. And once again I gotta say, NONE of them sound like the original, that includes Klassen. Sonny is best because he got to do the role multiple times over and he got much better. the Kai dub is great, better script and everything. Nostalgia shouldn't be the main judging factor here.

There's no contest here: Sonny Strait IS Krillin's US voice. He's the best of the bunch while (aside from the horrible Unknown Voice Actor) Terry Klassen is the weakest.
Also, I'm amused at just how much Dan Gascon sounds like Krillin's voice on DBZ:Abridged.

I really love how they both have the same scene in the comparison. It really shows the difference between the two actors and helps with comparing very closely. I'd go with Sonny, because he sounds a bit more natural.

terry is way better. it sounds more like a real voice. have you heard krillen in the frieza saga (funimation dub)? it sounds terrible

Neither is that great or that bad. They're both decent. It's too bad the scripting for the show made Kuririn so much lamer than he's supposed to be. I guess I probably prefer Klassen by a little, but I have a feeling that's pure nostalgia.

I'll go with the majority view which is that Terry Klassan is the best Krillin. Sonny didnt do a good job, Krillin isnt supposed to sound deep. Terry sounds close to the Japanese version, no wonder a huge majority of people prefer the Ocean dub, of course there's a tiny minority who like Sonny's Krillin, your loss to be honest.

but he is a terrible voice actor
i could pick out his voice in a crowd of 2 billion
they gave him ALOT of roles in dbz and they all sound exactly the same

Tough choice. Both are great in the role, IMO. The voice does come more naturally to Terry, though, as sorudo pointed out.

i like terry's voice more, it just fit's more and sounds more natural to the character.

I`m gonn ago with The Majority on this one and say Sonny is The Best because while Krillin`s Comic Relief in Both Dubs,Sonny puts more heart into It to prevent The Character from being relegated strictly to That Role.

Sonny Strait hands down! He's the voice i am used to, his voice matches his personality... Sonny strait does it so well! I've always loved Krillins voice job....

btw I think you mixed the voices up. You have Sonny's voice clip with Terry's and Terry's voice clip with Sonny's. :D
