I would definitely have to go with Mike McFarland. The voice Adam Hunter does for Baby just sounds too generic for its own good. Mike McFarland does a much better job of selling me on the idea that Baby is a psychotic manchild.

I dislike Baby, but Mike McFarland does a good job voicing him.

I think Mike is the best here, while Adam sounds too deep and cool for the role.

Mike McFarland's performance is a lot more sneaky and stealthy sounding for Baby, so I think that fits more with what I imagine a parasite-like creature to sound like.

Adam Hunter's performance sounds more like a deep-voiced giant rather than a creature like this to me for this form of Baby.

Ok that last line that Mike said is uninentionally sexual.

@Shaun Ince Not sure about this one, but the dubbers of DB, many of whom were college-age at the time, had great fun with this show ;)

Not entirely sure if it's unintentional.

I also kind of think that Adam sounds a bit like Neil Kaplan here.

@Shaun Ince In Budokai Tenkaichi 3 one of Oozaru Baby's quotes is "It's time for THIS MONKEY to spank YOU!"

Mike is really creepy. Adam is better as Great Ape Baby.

@GreenGoblin75 Maybe Mike could've been Baby in his basic form, while Adam voiced Oozaru!Baby. :D

Mike McFarland, definitely, he sounds more sinister, weasel-esque, and I think the high pitched voice fits a character named "Baby" of all things better.

Adam Hunter has a good villainous voice, though, but...kind of a deep voice for this form of Baby.

I like McFarland's take the best here. Adam Hunter's not too shabby either. As somebody pointed out, the deep voice fits him better when he's an Oozaru.

I'd expect a character named "Baby" to have a high voice. Therefore, McFarland.

To add to original Megatron post does Adam remind anyone of Frank's Prime take at the beginning. A bad but alright impression at best but still.

@pete Welker's Prime voice honestly reminds me of Jim Cummings at times.

Adam doesn't really remind me of it at all, but he'd probably make for a good incarnation of Megatron in another series. Granted I sort of doubt Blue Water would ever dub over Transformers but it would still be pretty cool with proper direction.

Mike McFarland just slightly reminds me of Tim Curry as Pennywise... the carnival-ish music in the background helps a bit with that.

Anyway, Mike sounds a little too throaty, but his acting is really good. I wish he did more villain voices like this. My vote's for Mike!

Adam Hunter sounds ridiculous (maybe it's the mic), no offense. Mike McFarland it is.

There's something I just realized.

In the Blue Water dub, Vegeta has a high voice and Baby has a deep voice.

In the Funimation dub, Vegeta has a deep voice and Baby has a high voice.

Were they intentionally trying to make Baby have the opposite voice of Vegeta for both dubs, or was this just a coincidence?

Definitely something to think about, at any rate.

@Metabad I brought up a similar comment of the Great Ape Baby compare. I think it's just complete coincidence at this point, but it would be pretty cool if it was intentional.

Actually, after hearing more Blue Water clips I changed my mind, Adam Hunter does fit Baby, but so does Mike McFarland, let me explain my stance first.

I think Mike McFarland's high pitched tone fits Baby's smaller forms more (like when he's first created as well as his form in the pic) but Adam Hunter's awesome deep scratchy voice fits his larger forms more (When he possesses Vegeta and his great ape form)

So overall I like them both, Adam Hunter does sound good in some other soundclips I've seen and the soundclip here really doesn't do his performance justice.

For those of you who don't believe me: this link has tons of Adam Hunter and Mike McFarland clips and as it turns out I've watched Hunter's more than McFarland's. That, and the Blue Water dub I've heard is more accurate to the Japanese script, though that only depends on how much you care about staying true to the Japanese version.

I've heard things like the Japanese voice being the perfect voice, with Mike's voice being too high and Adam's being too low, but as for me, Adam Hunter has some good clips and some bad clips, but overall I like them both, I'd just say Adam Hunter's performance is more of an acquired taste.

Hah, did you get that pic off my facebook? Classic. Mike did an amazing job, no doubt about it. This was my first role in a cartoon... had a blast and learned a lot.
Thank you for the compliments, but I certainly don't argue with the Mike fans. He's awesome.

@captainhunter Wow, is this actually Adam Hunter? That's awesome.

I just want you to know, I don't know what the others have to say, but I really do like your deep voice. I just don't think it fit Baby, don't let me discourage you though, keep on voice acting. Your scratchy deep menacing tone is really awesome to listen to.

@captainhunter Actually, changed my mind, I think you and Mike both fit the different forms of Baby, good job overall Adam, the clip here really doesn't do you justice in my opinion as your performance was entertaining to me, hope you keep acting. (Maybe someday I'll work with you since I'm Canadian and I'm interested in voice acting, wouldn't that be cool?)

Ok so after listening to those soundclips a few times I came to the conclusion that Mike McFarland fits Baby way more, he makes him sound creepy and I love the unsettling music that plays over his dialogue.

As for Adam Hunter...well, I admit, he does have a good deep voice, I like the scratchy tone of his voice, but it does not fit Baby at all. A shame because on top of that that was the version I saw on TV. No wonder GT never left a lasting impression on me.

So yeah, voting Mike McFarland for this one. But...props for Adam Hunter for having a cool deep voice, it's just that he was severely miscast in the role.

Mike McFarland by far. His voice suits Baby's sneaky hate filled prideful border line insane attitude. Adam Hunter on the other hand just sounds like some voice my brother would put on, and on top of that it really doesn't fit the character. Also but does Baby's Blue Water dub voice just sound like the dude was speaking in his normal voice, and they just edit it to make it sound like that?

Adam Hunter would make a great Megatron(especially at the beginning) or some other villiain. Mcfarland is good but I'm voting for him.

@ pokejedservo

yeah kind of. I was thinking to include Baby Vegeta's Great Ape into the Ozaru VC in the future.

Your more than welcome to do it yourself if you want :)

Yeah I am going with McFarland a bit more as well, I was surprised that Joe Romersa isn't here (from the PS1 game DBGT Final Bout). But since the Baby in that game is Baby Great Ape Vegeta let me guess you were thinking of doing a separate VC for Baby Vegeta's Great Ape counterpart?
