I like Colleen's voice from Kai the best, but I have to admit that she sounds atrocious in the games she's been in.

No disrespect to Ms. Clinkenbeard (she's a great Erza) but I vastly, vastly prefer Meredith McCoy. I have little interest in Kai so I've stayed out of the Z vs. Kai topics but this is one I wanted to say a bit on.
I just watched the videos of Trunks going back to his future and killing Future Android 17 and 18. (yes I know they're cyborgs) Ms. Clinkenbeard just didn't do it for me at all. Her voice is just too light and doesn't have the sense of power or dominance that 18 should possess.
People say Ms. McCoy sounded too robotic but that was only at first. She definitely sounded very inhuman against Vegeta but remember that the two cyborgs were the villains at this point. They were supposed to radiate an ominous and chilling air. Once the charade of them being like the evil androids of Trunks' future is doen away with however, she sounds quite human. She may be laid back and casual but still very warm and caring, as you can hear during her interactions with Krillin or their daughter.
Speaking of the scene where Trunks wipes out his androids, McCoy was fantastic there too. She can be deadpan ("look, he noticed. How cute") or fiery ("I HATE YOU!!") and both are very convincing and make me love the character of Eighteen.

I like Of Meredith Dubbed the Voice of Android 18 But I think Colleen expressed the Best Android 18 in DBZ Kai =)

Meridith McCoy IS and always will be 18. It's a no-brainer, she will ALWAYS be better than that squeaky, half-assed Colleen Clinkenbitch she was replaced with in the games and Kai.

It goes without saying that you don't mess with a girl that authentically sounds like she can (and just might) bust your head open.
McCoy IS 18; accept no substitutes. If you don't believe me, then just look up some of her YouTube uploads from back in the day.

If you ask me, I think there all good: (except for Jennifer, she sound too gentle for Andriod 18.)
I guess my pick would be Meredith because that's what I'm used to, but props to everyone else too. :)

@Torak Jennifer is perfect for 18 when she did that voice. Think about it, in GT, she has settled down significantly and is a more gentle person in normal conversation.
Replysaid at 7:07 AM on Sun Aug 26 2012
@Super Sapphire Umm, I mean no disrespect to you, but Android 18 is NOT meant to sound gentle.
I'm sure Jennifer is a more gentle person in reality, but her voice did not fit a character that is supposed to be a powerful fighter that originally, killed many people. (DBZ: The history of Trunks.) That's just my opinion, take it or leave it.

@Torak To be fair this clip of her isn't the best choice since she's mind controlled. We don't know how she actually sounds.

Meredith McCoy is and always will be Android 18. Colleen did an ok job but I think I could see Spider Woman (Jessica Drew) with that voice more than 18. The others were meh to me.

It is enough to say that I prefer the ORIGINAL Dragon Ball Z cast? Honestly, the Kai cast kinda sucks.

Colleen sounds the best because she sounds humanish, and 18 was human.

I'm surprised at all the positive reception for the Unknown Actress! Usually the voice actors from the "Big Green" dubs get horrible reception, and are almost treated as a joke! But I guess I agree that the AB Groupe dub of "Gohan and Trunks" was "better" (not saying much) than the movies. But there were definitely some laughable moments (such as the scene where 18 says "We're taking a ride on a Merry-Go-Round!" in a childlike voice as she and 17 are getting on), and Bulma's "Big Green" voice was laughable as always and her dramatic scenes were slaughtered. Other than that, it was "less laughable" than the other movies (I still have no idea why AB insisted on having like... NO BUDGET to dub these movies).

1. Meredith - She's just perfect for the role
2. Colleen - She doesn't do a bad job imitating Meredith's voice.
3. The actress doing the voice in that dub of "The History of Trunks"
4/5. Enuka/Jennifer - Both sound too soft for the role.

@Metabad No, 17 and 18 (and 20) are Cyborgs. They still are partially human and are capable of having emotions.

Collean sounds better in the show then the games. In the games she sounds like a big flirt while in the show she sounds better. My vote still goes to McCoy but to be fair no one in this Voice Compare did a bad job

Y'know, I honest to God like Colleen's better. Meredith is just a little too butch for 18 here. She's supposed to sound a tad feminine, and Colleen just does that a little bit better.

I have to say Meredith and Chuck are my two favorite FUNi actors, mainly because they are the nicest and most humble. I've had encounters with some of the other actors (I won't mention any names) and they acted very conceited and were rude to me.
I have to agree with holly with the way some of the characters are portrayed in the English dubs. I can't stand Krillin in the US dub, even though he's actually not so bad in the Japanese, and the same goes for #18. Her characterization is all wrong!
Even though I like Meredith and her voice, in a way she kinda ruins the character for me... But I would probably say that about any other US/English VA. I blame the directors for #18's poor character development, not the actors.
Out of all of these, I'd probably pick Meredith as the best...her voice is more unique, whereas Colleen, who is a great actor herself, sounds like a lot of other anime VA's. Meredith's voice just seems to stand out more, and doesn't sound like a voice you hear all the time in other shows.

Meredith is much more relaxed and seductive in the video games so if she reprises the role I think you'd approve.
As for Chuck I'm sure he'll reprise 17. He made a recover a short while back so all is good. ;)
The scripts for all the BZ Kai episodes have been very accurate to the Japanese episodes (Goku even said his last name in one episode). :)

Hey it was a nice thought. ;) Gotta love the Japanese dub.
I'm not very familiar with Kai at this point (I'm waiting for the Android Saga in North America), any idea if they are keeping their script as close to the Japanese dub as they can?
Honestly, I'm not concerned with who plays #18. Meredith is a great actor, I only hope they portray the characters as intended by the Japanese version, especially #18. She's so much more humble and personable in the Japanese dub. She's so annoying in the english dub. >.<
I'll go nuts if Chuck can't reprise his role as #17. Hope he gets well soon.

Enjoy the unknown clip! :D
@holly
We don't upload clips of the Japanese dub. If we do, we'd have to upload clips from EVERY foreign language dub. Plus there's no way of understanding what they're saying. So we stick strictly to English.
Actually if an actor doesn't return for Kai, it's because they weren't asked to, and aren't as active in voice acting (that's what Stephanie Nadolny told me). Sabat prefers to stick with people immediately available. He did say to one of our moderators on FB that he knows a lot of people want McCoy back, so he may be trying to get her to reprise her role like in FMA Brotherhood. I personally hope so, since McCoy IS Android 18! She looks the part, she sounds the part, she even sings as 18 for the soundtrack! She's just so perfect in every way!

Perfectly a great bitch??? LOLWUT XD That something you have in common?
Anyway, as I said before, I can't stand bitchy #18, cyborg or no. Japanese #18 is the best. They should upload clips from the Japanese dub. I kinda like the unknown VA from HoT, I started cracking up when I heard her laughing at #17. In my opinion, Colleen kinda sounds like Meredith when she speaks, but her screams are definitely different.
You might as well get used to the new VA's for Kai, many of the actors left because of disputes and such with the producers.

Meredith McCoy sounds like she'd rip your head apart, while also sounding sexy enough, so she gets my vote. Coleen is tied with Okuma and Unknown VA for second place. Unknown VA really sounds like the rebellious teenager that Android 18 came from. I can't judge the GT VA fairly because she's apparently hypnotized judging by what she says and the VERY monotone sound of her voice, there. Someone should get a new clip for her so comparing her would be fair.

Well I'm not sure if you've noticed, but 18 can be a bitch. She's not a heartless one, but she can be pretty moody. I believe for an android, that was the perfect way to go. I don't know what you're talking about, but 18 should perfectly be a great bitch.

My biggest problem with the English dub is they changed the script so drastically... the original Japanese script is so much better.
I'm not saying anything against Meredith at all, she's great, I just don't like her as #18. I'm sure it's not her fault...the directors probably told her to portray #18 in that manner. In general, I just can't stand uber bitchy characters. In fact, I don't like any of the female characters in DBZ, save for Fasha... :3
#18, in the Japanese dub, I like pretty well. English dubs, no way.

In the Japanese version I noticed #18 has a very gentle voice and is very soft spoken, at least towards #17 anyway. Of all of these, I've only watched the US version, which I hate for a number of reasons. No offense to Meredith, she's awesome, but she makes #18 sound like a super bitch. It's probably the thing that irks me the most about her in the US version. Just HAD to point that out, and I know I'm not the only person who feels this way.

Anyways it is Colleen.

Stephanie Nadolny didn't voice Gohan so why 18?
Colleen is confirmed for Raging Blast 2 and since Tenkaichi Tag Team only came out shortly before she voiced 18 for that game too.

Granted, the GT clip is a bad one to use for her, since she's hypnotised, or something. However, of the three, Meredith McCoy is probably the best. Okuma's is actually pretty close, though.

Jennifer- Rosammy! Whoops, wrong anime series. Just from that clip alone, she sounds a bit robotic, but not too far off Meredith's voice.
Colleen- No doubt different. The youngest-sounding of them all. Not too bad at following 18's character. Her performance on the show is much better than in the games though.
