Today on the Disney VC section we take a look at this Brazilian Parrot known as simply JOSE CARIOCA! We will begin with his Jose's debut which is Saludos Amigos in which Jose was voiced by Brazilian actor Jose Oliveira. It was interesting for Disney to hire a Brazilian actor to play Jose as Jose's voice for the role was of course very natural for this role here. Jose delivers a rather energetic performance as not only a rather excitable fan of Donald's but is also a charismatic lover of music. Jose Oliveira's work as well Jose Carioca is a good example of the voice work in classic Disney animation.

In Jose's more modern appearances namely in Mickey Mouse Works and Mickey House of Mouse, Rob Paulsen gets to take over the role here. While Rob's accent for the role sounds a bit more Spanish than Brazilian but his voice for the role was pretty good. As Rob's voice and performance for the role does suit Jose's Charismatic Easy-going nature and is a pretty good example of the voice work from those shows. Overall Jose's voice work for the role is pretty classic but Rob Paulsen's voice work for the role is a pretty good example of a "Stand-in" performance in Disney's more recent handiwork.

I'll go with Jose Oliveira. He sounds like a real Brazilian and gives Jose a lot of charisma and energy.

Even though I heard Rob Paulsen first looking back it is a little too recognisable.

They're both good.

Jose Oliveria has the more authentic accent while Rob Paulsen has the more memorable least IMO.

I'll go with Rob.

Jose is pretty much perfect, but Rob does a good take on his own merit.

Due to how Oliveria's voice have brought Jose Carioca to life, I am more drawn to the original; much like Panchito Pistoles

I prefer Rob since he's more clearer when speaking in a Brazilian accent.

Jose did a great job as well though.

@Ross123 Unlike Panchito, the replacement does sound very different in a good way though, Jose's accent is a bit too thick and Rob has a nice softer voice
