Franchise: Daredevil

Daredevil is a Marvel Comics Superhero whom has been in the comics since the first issue of his own series that came out in April of 1964. While there are some lesser known alternate versions of Daredevil, the initial and main alter ego of Daredevil is that of young attorney Matt Murdock. Daredevil is not only a strong and skilled martial artist and acrobat but also has Super senses to compensate for the fact that he was blinded during his childhood when radioactive waste was dumped into his eyes. While Daredevil is established as the main character of his own story he has aided other Marvel Super Heroes that are in New York such as the Fantastic Four and especially Spider Man, the latter is generally when Spider Man is framed for a crime (which happens fairly frequently).

EDITOR'S OPINION

Today on the Marvel Universe VC we have a little something for the Man Without Fear... DAREDEVIL! Since this is a fairly large VC I shall just simply say that all of these guys did pretty well with the role here. Seriously none of them seem to be bad for the role at all. Sure Bill played Daredevil as someone with a bit more of a sense of humor while David made Daredevil sound a bit cocky which might seem strange since the other performances were more stoic but to be honest I wasn't bothered since these guys made their respective performances worked as well. So Overall I am just simply not sure who to go with this time...

Brian Bloom is just awesome as Daredevil. I think he nails the tormented vigilante personality to a tee.

Roger Craig Smith is also pretty great. He has a really amusing wiseguy tone which is pretty fitting for the Lego version IMO.

Steve Blum is also good. Despite lack of material, he does show a lot of promise in the role.

Edward Albert has a pretty awesome broody delivery. I really love the fact that he sounds like a film noir character at times.

Dee Bradley Baker is actually pretty good IMO. I think his broody delivery is really a lot of fun.

Mark Hildreth, Cam Clarke, Tom Kenny and Charlie Adler are also pretty good in the role.

Bill Smitrovich is too corny, but he's not bad.

I really enjoyed Charlie Cox as Daredevil/Matt Murdock in the Netflix series, he just played the character to a tee as a unhinged vigilante whose trying to help his city.

Anyways on to the voice compare.

I think I'll go with the majority on this one and go with Brian Bloom for his Marvel Heroes performance....wow he did a fantastic job there, and the best part is that he doesn't make him sound too much like his Captain America.

Mark Hildreth would be my close second, yeah he sounds way too light and cocky for Daredevil but he does remind me a lot of Charlie Cox's take and knowing Hildreth, if he did a voice similar to his Heero Yuy, it'd be perfect.

Edward Albert has an excellent nice deep but not stereotypical deep gruff voice which is refreshing. It should be mentioned that he once voiced a blind man in a movie called Butterflies Are Free so it's sort of a casting gag that he is Daredevil here.

Cam Clarke is pretty good too but needs a lot more polishing up.

Steve Blum has a few lines but could work as Daredevil even if its similar to his Wolverine.

Bill Smitrovich fits the classic Silver Age Daredevil but not the modern version.

Tom Kenny, Dee Bradley Baker and Charlie Adler (The UVA) are all miscast and don't fit Daredevil very well.

Overall I'll go with Brian Bloom on this one though if Mark Hildreth ever reprises I'd probably switch my vote to him.

BONUS: I could see someone like Robert McCollum or Marc Diraison being fantastic as Daredevil.

Steve Blum's take is very short, obviously, but hearing his work as Matt Murdock in The Punisher proves to me that he can be an awesome Daredevil. Hopefully one day he can have a real role with him.

I don't like any of these voices except Edward Albert. I think Roger Craig Smith should voice Daredevil someday.

Brian Bloom's slightly more reserved, deeper take on Daredevil is the perfect fit for the man without fear. Cam Clarke is over rated IMO, he sounds like he's trying too hard to sound monotone, but ultimately comes off as bored. Everyone else but Dee Bradley Baker, who feels miscast and is clearly the worst, fit the Silver Age pre Frank Miller version well, but only Silver Age.

Bill Smitrovich: His performance works well for the pre-Frank Miller Daredevil, so I think he works for that. 6/10

Edward Albert: He sounds dark and stoic enough, though I find he does sound a little old. Still a good performance. 7/10

Dee Bradley Baker: I love Baker, but his voice is not deep and stoic enough. To be fair, he doesn't have much to work with, and I do think he is a little miscast. 6.5/10

David Kaye: This isn't Kaye's fault, but this Daredevil is more cocky and arrogant, which I don't think fits the character of the comics, and the voice does not work either. 5.5/10

Cam Clarke: He nails the stoic part very well, but I don't think it works for the emotional aspects, as it is a little monotone. Still, a very good performance. 8/10

Brian Bloom: He sounded similar to Clarke in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 and was ok. Though in Marvel Heroes, he makes it sound deeper than Clarke and not as monotone, so I think that makes me vote for Bloom. 9/10

I think Bruce Greenwood's Batman voice fits Daredevil better than any of these guys, but out of the ones here, Brian Bloom is my favourite.

They're all pretty good (even Bill Smitrovich, though in his defense, his Daredevil was more the original Spider-Man-lite version, not the Frank Miller and beyond one), but I'm gonna go with the majority and give this one to Cam Clarke.

In general none are standouts, Daredevil should (IMO) have a heavier, raspier and tormented tone to his voice but I'm gonna go with Edward.

@AWIG I agree with you, DD should have a voice that reflects a dark past. Kinda like a Batman voice

I agree that they all do good bbut maybe Bill is the excpetion but that's only because I don't think Daredevil should have that much sense of humor. I do always image Daredevil will a more raspier voice but none really do one so I'm a little dispointed. In all I'm still undecided on who was better

@Music Meister He actually did crack jokes in the early comics though it was abandoned at some point probably in or around the Frank Miller era.
