Papu Papu

Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Papu Papu with sound clips and images.
Franchise: Crash Bandicoot

Papu Papu is the chief of the native tribe that inhabits the Wumpa Islands. His name supposedly means "Pass me that dish again, mate!" in his native language, which explains his wide girth. Papu Papu has a fuse as short as he is big and does not take kindly to his nap being disturbed or his territory being trespassed.

In Crash Team Racing, he is voiced by David Anthony Pizzuto in the English version. In Crash Twinsanity, he is voiced by Dwight Schultz (who also voices Dingodile among others in the game).

This might be weird but I'm actually going with the original David Siller. Yeah his lines are just grunts and growls but I think it fits Papu Papu the most and is more memorable, much like how Brendan's Crash voice was mainly just "Whoa!" and a few screams.

Dwight Schultz does do good speaking as a typical tribe leader so if there were ever time Papu had to speak I'm glad he did it this way.

Ironically my least favourite just so happens to be the one who speaks the most. David Anthony Pizzuto's take is way too gravelly and while it may seem fitting to many I honestly think it loses the charm of the character when he speaks. That's just me though.

Papu Papu really doesn't say much in the 1st game so my vote ain't changing.

I suppose Brendan's sound effects for him was ok.

Michael Gollom is my favorite, but they both sound good.

 1 Shout Out!
Dwight makes him sound more like a proper tribesman because Michael used English words.
