EDITOR'S OPINION
Brien does a good job at sounding like a sinister character in spite of his henchman status, and the effect is only amplified by the voice filter applied to his speech. Burton comes off more as a simpering lackey than anything and makes the character seem uncharacteristically weak-willed. Flynn captures a similar creepiness to Brien's performance while adding a hint of instability that suits the character nicely. North amps up the mentally unstable aspect of the character and is much more comic in nature than his predecessors, but this is arguably for the better as North's delivery really makes N. Gin more entertaining to listen to. I'm going with North in first, Flynn in second, Brien in third and Burton in fourth.CatsTuxedo

I have played the N Sane Trilogy & had a listen to Corey's take in that game. He still doesn't sound right to me. There's not a whole lot of oomph to his voice & he doesn't sell the creepiness of N Gin like Quinton Flynn & Brendan O'Brien do.

Here are my rankings on the voices:
5. Lex Lang - Pretty poor. It doesn't really sound like N. Gin. Stick to Cortex Lex.
4. Corey Burton - This one's pretty alright. He gets the voice right. Not much else to say really.
3. Nolan North - Was never really a fan of his N. Gin. He's way too over the top and lacks a bit of the creepy aspect of the character. Plus I think the humour with him gets old after a while. Still like with Corey he gets the voice down.
2. Brendan O'Brien - Yep, I'm not going with Brendan on this one. While he did do a great job I feel it sounds too much like his Brio voice with a robotic effect, which is why when I listened to Brio's voice in the first game I immediately thought N. Gin. Still he really nails the creepy side. Brendan's a classic don't get me wrong I just feel one other actor perfected the voice more.
1. Quinton Flynn - I feel Quinton had a solid combination of creepy and comedic. His voice is immediately the most memorable for me when I think of N. Gin. He has a ton of energy and makes him sound like a crazy scientist. Quinton gets my vote here.

This one was really tough.
1. Nolan North - We never really got a chance to hear his creepy N. Gin, but his unhinged energy and dead-on Lorre impression makes him one of the best for the character.
2. Brendan O'Brien - He pulls off the creepier Lorre part of N. Gin the best, something the later games expanded on. Props to the original.
3. Quinton Flynn - A solid Peter Lorre impression with a ton of psychotic energy.
4. Corey Burton (N. Sane Trilogy) - Personally, he still sounds rather snivelly and a bit too robotic (and even a bit Italian lol). With the material he's gotten though, I think he did better on his second try, and even did some lines more creepier than Brendan did (We'll see who's obsoleeeeete!). He's become a good N. Gin though, don't get me wrong.
5. Lex Lang - The voice is decent, but the limited material doesn't really show him off well.

Corey Burton in N Sane Trilogy sounds pretty good. He's not on the level of Brendan, Quinton or Nolan, but much better than how he sounded in Wrath of Cortex.

From the small snippit I've heard, Corey's N.Sane performance does sound a lot closer to Brendan's take than what he did in Wrath of Cortex.
Still wish they'd kept Nolan though

@HyperVoiceActing That's good to know that he's improved. Yeah, I do wish they brought Nolan back for this.

Heard a snippet of Corey as N. Gin in the remake, he sounds absolutely creepy and intimidating like Brendan. I love it.

While I am somewhat disappointed that Nolan isn't reprising in the remastered Crash games, I am curious to see how Corey Burton will sound under better direction. Though I reckon Nolan could still work as the more subtle N Gin that was present in the original trilogy of Crash Bandicoot games.

Brendan O'Brien and Nolan North are tied for my favourite N-Gin voice. But Quinn and Lex Lang does a pretty nice job with the character as well. Not too big on Burton's take though. I mean it's decent enough I suppose but it's not as good the other ones.

Here's hoping Nolan North reprises his role as N Gin in the Crash N Sane trilogy. By far one of my favorite N Gin voice post Crash Nitro Kart & Twin Sanity.

Nolan North strikes the perfect balance between creepy & comedic. That game andthe game that Nolan voiced before Crash of the Titans is proof of that. Though I reckon it would have sounded great with the filter on his voice.

I actually didn't recognize that was Nolan at first. So massive kudos on that.
He's my first, with Brendan and Quinton tied for second

1. Brendan O'Brien: My personal favorite, the filter added to his voice makes him sound incredibly creepy and adds to his already great Peter Lorre impersonation.
2. Quinton Flynn/Nolan North: Both of them made N. Gin sound hilariously demented and did a fine job at it. May I add that Nolan in particular does the best Peter Lorre impersonation?
3. Lex Lang: I'd like his take on N. Gin more if he was able to have more fun with it. It's more of the script-writers fault, but I didn't get that sense of total insanity that I did with Quinton and Nolan's takes. He still does a fine Peter Lorre though.
4. Corey Burton: His N. Gin isn't really "bad" per se, but it's not a fun or memorable one, kind of simpering and weak.

I kinda wanna see how Billy West does N. Gin. You could probably put an echo filter on his Ren lines and get N. Gin.

Nolan North was great, then Brendan O'Brien. I would have liked to hear Nolan North with the electronic effect.

I like Brendan O'Brien's the most because of the robotic effect, but other than that he sounds too much like N.Brio since it's the same actor.

Lex is pretty good as N. Gin but my vote stays with Nolan.

Quinton Flynn does the best at being both creepy and funny at the same time in my opinion. Nolan North is good, but I think he cranks up the goofy just a little too much. Brendan's okay, and Corey Burton is the weakest but still decent.

They're all really but i'll go with Nolan as his voice fits N.Gin the best.
But still, Brendan, Quinton & Corey were all good too.

BoB: Because is N Gin cyborg, Brendan did his voice very well. Is creepy and that is what i like it!
CB: Sounds little smarter but less than robot and more cowardly
QF: Well... this is in my school... :-D just kidding!
NN: My school when is half of my class missing! XD
Brendan wins for me!

Nolan makes the role his own and it's the most diverse I've ever heard North. I didn't even know it was him until about a year ago.

# 1 - Quinton Flynn: Love his energy, plus the lines & delivery is very entertaining.
# 2 - Brendan O'Brien: What can I say as I grew up with his voice. The vocal effects a bit on the heavy side, but it works well with the creepy overall vibe that he gives off.
# 3 - Nolan North: Has the same energy as Quinton & a similar creepiness as Brendan, but he's just a bit too crazy.
# 4 - Corey Burton: No offense to Corey, he's a great voice actor, but he sounds too cowardly for my liking.

I'd give it that N. Gin is essentially Peter Lorre with a metallic eye, but Brendan sounds like Ren Hoek speaking into a voice changer.
Corey is good, but Quinton and Nolan are the best.

I don't know, Quinton, Brendan and North are all very good (Corey Burton's still a great voice actor too) but in the end I'll go for North Nolan, he sounds a little more crazier then the others: which is how N. Gin should sound like IMO.

1. Quinton Flynn (I personally think that he's the best N. Gin. That voice is simply excellent to listen to, and the vocal effects really scream "psychotic"! Not to mention that I had Nitro Kart on my Xbox a long time ago. IMO this is also the best N.Gin design)
2. Brendan O'Brien (He's classic N.Gin! What more could you ask for other than O'Brien being very satisfactory in this performance, as well as Crash? I can be tempted to say that both O'Brien and Quinton made Doctor N. Gin an incredibly enjoyable and heart-pounding villain... Ooooooooh, yes!)
3. Nolan North (I'll be honest: North is a solid voice actor, but not counting Father from CN Punch Time Explosion, he's had better roles. In fact, I easily loathe most of the characters after Sierra and Radical Entertainment, excluding Brio's portrayal, of course. He may be swell for most of you, but.... {sighs} I see nothing great about this performance.)
4. Corey Burton (This is the same problem I have with North, but it's not as problematic or complain-worthy. Maybe because I grew up with the Naughty Dog titles!)

I love Nolan North, and it pains me to be forced to vote for him considering the games he voice him in are so bad. Generally I would vote for the original! But yeah, everyone here did such a good job.

For me it has to be Quinton or Corey ‘s performance from the remasters.
