Mike Teavee

Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Mike Teavee with sound clips and images.
Franchise: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Mike Teavee is a boy who has thoroughly desensitized himself with a heavy intake of mainstream media via television. He is the finder of the fourth of five Golden Tickets, which allows him to attend a tour of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. In the factory's Television Room, he is shrunken down to four inches tall after impulsively subjecting himself to the "Wonka-vision" system intended to beam physical bars of chocolate into people's television screens.

EDITOR'S OPINION

Fry's petulant delivery really gets the "conceited genius" angle across well, and while Weisman's performance isn't bad by any means, the sound is too scratchy to come off as entirely natural, and her given material isn't insufferable enough for the character's ultimate fate to feel completely deserved. I'm going with Fry here.

 1 Shout Out!
Fry of course, he's the Mike Teavee I know and grew up with!

Weisman sounds a little... meh... in my opinion.

Fry's take fits more, but his delivery is rather flat in places.

Weisman's delivery is a bit too over the top, really, in addition to sounding a bit more...obnoxious?

Jordan is kinda flat in the games unfortunately it kinda shows he has no practice with voice acting, something AnnaSophia and Freddie has... though the voice itself does sound like an apathetic boy

Lauren sounds like... Timmy Turner's post season 1 voice and I never liked his voice post season 1 plus she just sounded too energetic for such a lazy kid

1. Jordan Fry- His acting is really flat, but his voice sounds more natural as a young boy. It also fits his self-centered and intelligent attitude.
2. Lauren Weisman- Her voice sounds too scratchy and it's kind of obvious that a woman is voicing him. IMO, she sounds more like a tomboy rather than a young boy.

Just like in the Veruca VC, I feel both these VAs didn't do that well. I guess I'll go with Fry... but man... neither of these performers do it for me.

Lauren, I really thought was Tara Strong at first. Neither of them sit right, but Fry sounded more natural, if not a bit weird sounding.

I don't care for either of them. Jordan sounds really out of it, especially compared to his movie performance. The lines are there, but I can tell he's not comfortable with VO. Meanwhile Lauren sounds like knock-off Timmy Turner and it gets old fast. I guess I'll vote for Jordan because he doesn't outright annoy me, but this is a poor showing.
