Castlevania Castlevania

Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Cornell with sound clips and images.
Franchise: Castlevania

(Note: We at BTVA are aware that John Nuzzo has been credited as the voice of Cornell in his debut title Castlevania Legacy of Darkness but John only did grunts when it came to voicing Cornell.)

Cornell is one of the characters of the Castlevania series whom made his debut in the Nintendo 64 game "Castlevania Legacy of Darkness". Cornell is a Man Beast whom is a Werewolf whom fights the forces of evil especially to protect his dear younger sister Ada. While Cornell was originally a protagonist in the Castlevania series he became an Antagonist in Castlevania Lords of Shadow which is set in a different continuity but he is still a beast man whom once had a human appearance.

Today on the Castlevania VC section we have a little something for the "Blue Crescent Moon" himself... CORNELL! We shall begin with Castlevania Judgement in which Cornell was voiced by Paul St. Peter, in which Paul's fairly deep voice for the role was rather fitting for the role. (As not only does Paul's Cornell voice suit the wolf man's appearance but also his personality as well.) Paul's performance for the role definitely suited Cornell's persona as while Cornell is troubled by his sudden inability to change into his human form he is determined to find a way to break his curse. Paul's work as Cornell is a fine example of his work as one of the better performances in Castlevania Judgement.

In Castlevania Lords of Shadow, English actor Richard Ridings gets to take over the role of Cornell here. Yes this take on Cornell is fairly different but I do rather enjoyed Richard's deep gruff voice for the role as it is definitely fitting for a Beast Man. Richard's performance for the role had a menacingly sinister feel to it with a nice touch of cocky arrogance as well. While Cornell is normally known as a hero in the Castlevania series Richard Ridings does a highly commendable job in playing Cornell as a Villain and his performance for the role is a fine example in Lords of Shadow's voice work. Overall I will gladly go with a tie here as both of these guys did well in their own way.

I'm more partial to Cornell's more noble characterization, so Paul St. Peter earns my vote.

Well my vote goes to Richard.... and scary fact: He was Angelo in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Remember? He was that guy who poked fun at Valiant and Doom. "Well say Hello... Harvey."
