Voice Compare » Captain America » Winter Soldier
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Winter Soldier with sound clips and images.
Winter Soldier is initially a foe now Anti-hero ally of Captain America whose comic book debut was in Captain America Volume 5 #1 in January of 2005. Winter Soldier is one of the various fates that have happened to Captain America's sidekick Bucky in which Bucky was captured and brainwashed into a cold-blooded assassin by the Soviets (or in one story the Red Skull). Back when Winter Soldier was a villain his persona somewhat differed (he is either a violent amnesiac or hates Captain America and blames him for his predicament here) but when he becomes a Anti-Hero he makes amends to Cap and wishes to atone for his past as Winter Soldier. As Winter Soldier Bucky is a lot stronger with his new cybernetic arm and while he is still well known as Cap's old partner he has worked with the Black Widow before as well.

EDITOR'S OPINIONAlright folks today in the Captain America VC section we take a look at this new version of Bucky... WINTER SOLDIER! Lets begin...
Crispin Freeman- First of all one can tell that his voice and performance for the role is very similar to what he has done for Albedo Piazzola (well namely when he is speaking to Cap). But to be fair all things considered it is rather understandable. But still Crispin's voice is pretty good as his performance as he can go from serious minded soldier to someone who has a bit too much issues with his old partner. Its a pretty good example of Crispin's work and of the voice work in the game.
Jon Curry- At first I thought that Jon's voice was perhaps a little too high but I did start to like it more as I have realized that Jon was playing Winter Soldier as Scott Menville's Bucky all grown up and kind of bitter about his life. While Jon's voice and performance for the role was okay at first but he did get considerably better later on when the show did more focus on Winter Soldier's past. It was a good example of Jon's work and of the voice work in the show nevertheless.
Yuri Lowenthal- First of all I have noticed on how unlike the others Yuri seems to be playing this role as more of an Anti-Hero instead of a Villain (well a far lighter Anti-Hero consdiering what kind of game this is but still). Anyways Yuri has a fairly good voice for the role and his performance is pretty good (though limited due to lack of lines) as Yuri tries to play up the fact that Winter Soldier is... well... a Soldier. But still while this is an okay example of Yuri's work in general its one of his better performances in this game at least.
Bob Bergen- I too must agree that this is a very interesting change of pace for Bob here as his voice and performance work very well with the role here. But still Bob was a natural fit for the role here as he does a fine job in playing the Winter Soldier as a resentful yet tragic Anti-Villain character.I also liked on how Bob made Winter Soldier sound threatening and hateful but also made him sympathetic in a way as well and its a very good example of his work.
Overall both all of them are pretty good for the role in their own way but I think I am going with Bob Bergen the most here.
