Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Rachel Alucard with sound clips and images.
Franchise: BlazBlue

Rachel Alucard is one of the primary protagonists of the BlazBlue series and is a little Vampire girl whom is the current head of the Alucard family. Rachel Alucard has two familiars that are constantly around her the child-like bat Gii and the Cat-themed Talking Umbrella with a rather flamboyant personality Nago (whom she regularly abuses them for usually petty reasons) and her butler is the elderly gentleman werewolf by the name of Valkenhayn. Even though Rachel is several centuries old she is by all intents and purposes a child due to how slow Vampires age and while she is often rude and condescending towards the majority of the series' cast she is on the side of good especially since she genuinely desires to take down the series' main villain Hazama. While Rachel herself would not admit this but she seems to have an interest in men whom have serious issues regarding their sisters namely Ragna the Bloodedge and Carl Clover (while the former definitely has more attention on the matter the latter has had some attention as well but more on the 1st game than the 2nd.)

Today on the BlazBlue VC section we take a look at this Little Miss Vampire here whom the series' hero Ragna the Bloodedge not-so affectionately refers to as the "Rabbit" or "Bunny-Leech"... RACHEL ALUCARD! Normally in the game series Rachel is voiced by Mela Lee. Mela's voice for the role has a very British accent for the role in which Mela was definitely able to make it work for the role rather well. While Mela definitely played up Rachel's snobbishness a lot it certainly does work but she can of course sound rather endearing as well. Mela's performance as Rachel Alucard is one of her better ones and is a fine example of the voice work in the BlazBlue series.

In the 3DS/PSP release of BlazBlue Continuum Shift II, Rachel had one scene worth of dialogue in her Butler Valkenhayn's Arcade Mode in which Melissa Fahn got to briefly take over the role here. While fans have complained about the VA change for Rachel to be honest I won't as I found Melissa Fahn to be a very suitable alternative for the role here. Laura managed to pull off the British accent and while its not exactly like Mela's Rachel voice Melissa's voice for the role does sound rather similar. However while I wouldn't necessarily consider it better than Mela's Rachel Voice but I do like on how Melissa's voice for the role does sound a bit more child-like (not that I am calling Mela's voice for the role old or anything but still.) However Melissa does play Rachel a bit differently (but that is more due to how Rachel was with Valkenhayn whom is pretty much the only character whom she is not rude to on a regular basis) but still Melissa's more playful performance does suit the role pretty well and is one of the better "stand-in" performances in that game. Overall both of these ladies did very well for the role and while I know that Mela played the role more but I am not entirely sure who to go with here.

Melissa Fahn is okay but it sounds a lot like her Neptune. Mela Lee brings much more and does a perfect job.

Mela Lee. She just brings so much to the character and the loli British accent is amazing.

Melissa Fahn is alright, but Mela Lee just IS the character. Love the English accent too!

Everytime I hear Melissa Fahn, all I hear is Neptune, it sounds like Neptune impersonating Rachel. I could go either way on this one.

That doesn't sound like Laura Bailey. Sounds more like Melissa Fahn to me.

Laura Bailey is a respectable voice replacement for Rachel Alucard but Mela Lee is simply better suited for the role in the long run of everything.

Do I have to say it? Rachel Alucard is/was one of the most broken characters of the series, itself, yet we don't actually hate her... In fact, she's an interesting character design with two annoyances we just can't stop laughing at because of the things Rachel does to them!

Okay, simply out of topic, I'll go and make this statement: I DO like the performances of both Mela Lee and Laura Bailey, but seeing how I've heard more from the latter, I wanted to pick Bailey... Yet she's a stand-in (a RATHER good example of that) and didn't really have much to work with. Therefore, I'm going with voting for Lee, herself. I don't know why, but I'm having the feeling that getting used extremely quickly to Mela's performance, in which I deem her the victor... And then again, there's also Rachel's seiyuu (Kana Ueda), who is pretty much the similarity to Mela: both use stellar performances for the character, herself.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Mela Lee originally was the dubber for Hiyori Sarugaki in the American version of Bleach (mainly for about the majority of the first half of the Arrancar arc), and then immediately after, Laura Bailey (around the start of the Turn Back the Pendulum arc)? If you don't care about it, that's cool since I just put out a little trivia, here and now.

Also, keep your Twilight away from Darkstalkers, Vlad III, BlazBlue, and, uh... Anne Rice. That is all!
