Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Mayor Hamilton Hill with sound clips and images.
Mayor Hamilton Hill is one of the various supporting characters in the Batman franchise whom made his Comic Book Debut in Detective Comics #510 in 1985. Hamilton Hill is the Mayor of Gotham City whom was originally depicted as a villain namely a highly corrupt politician whom has worked with the likes of Rupert Thorne. However over the years while Hamilton Hill is still Gothan City's Mayor he has had more favorable depictions as someone whom might be a good guy to a definite good guy. While Hamilton's behavior does depend on the writer he has went from working with one of Batman's foes to be an occasional victim of them.
EDITOR'S OPINIONToday on the Batman VC section we take a look at the Mayor of Gotham City himself... HAMILTON HILL! We will begin with the Batman Animated series in which Hamilton was voiced by the late Lloyd Bochner. Lloyd's voice for the role did have a suitably stuffy feel for the role and yet his performance did suit on how while Hamilton has a shameless love of PR but he is by no means a truly bad man though. While Hamilton did appear in plenty of episodes in the series he only occasionally had a significant role in them but still Lloyd Bochner's work for the role was rather fitting and a good example of the voice work in the show.
In "The Batman" Hamilton gets a flat-out good depiction and was in one episode and was voiced by Lex Lang. Lex's voice for the role is decent I suppose but it feels like Lex is just using his regular speaking voice which is not bad per say but its not particularly memorable either. However Lex's performance for the role is good though as he tries to make a big speech while sounding so noble and strong and Lex pulls it off pretty well. So in other words Lex's performance for the role of Hamilton is pretty good as it does get the job done well enough even if it is a little generic.
In Young Justice, Hamilton appeared in a cameo for one episode voiced by Corey Burton. In Young Justice Hamilton is depicted as a considerably manlier individual and Corey's work on the role does suit with what the show was going with fairly well. Corey's voice for the role had a rough older feel which was very suitable as his performance does show a good sense of arrogance as well. While Hamilton only had about a couple of lines in the show but Corey's work was still fairly memorable nevertheless. Overall I liked them all but I am going with Lloyd Bochner the most with Corey Burton at a close second and Lex Lang at a decent third.
