Akira - Shotaro Kaneda
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Shotaro Kaneda with sound clips and images.
Ah yes Kaneda, the Hero of the renowned Anime film that is AKIRA! And we shall be going over how he sounded in the 1989 and 2001 dub of the movie. In the 1989 dub he was voiced by renowned North American Animation VA Cam Clarke, while it did seem rather strange to hear that voice at first I did grow into it pretty quickly. However in the 2001 dub we have known Anime VA Johnny Yong Bosch as well. Granted nowadays some people are getting a little tired of him being the male lead in an anime nowadays but this is one of his best works as a male lead in an anime. (Granted not as cool as Vash the Stampede but its still a good reminder why did we ever like JYB as a Anime Male Lead.) So while I would deem Cam Clarke the better VA in general in this case I would go with JYB because it felt more natural from the start.
