Voice Compare » Ah! My Goddess! » Sayoko Mishima
Comparision of the voice over actors who have been the voice of Sayoko Mishima with sound clips and images.
Sayoko Mishima is one of the female students at the Nekomi Institute of Technology and is the cousin of Toshiyuki Aoshima. Sayoko is a wealthy young woman whom has been seen as the "Queen" of the school as she is considered the prettiest girl in school (until Belldandy came along causing Sayoko to be jealous) and ends up as a romantic rival to Belldandy for Keiichi. Unlike her cousin Toshiyuki, Sayoko does is a bit more sympathetic but it depends on the story as how she can go from actually having feelings for Keiichi or is just driving to get him away from Belldandy just to spite her for being a threat to her reputation. Though like her cousin Toshiyuki, Sayoko also owns and drives a fancy car namely a Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren.

EDITOR'S OPINIONToday on the Ah! My Goddess! VC section we have a little something for the "Queen" of the Nekomi Institute of Technology... SAYOKO MISHIMA! We shall start this off with the 90s Animeigo English dub of the OVA in which North Carolina VA Belinda Bizic is the first to voice Sayoko in English here. Belinda's voice for the role is a decent fit as it does suit a rather vain rich girl pretty well. Belinda's performance was also pretty good as it does give a good sense of haughtiness (and it can suit Sayoko's occasional envy issues as well). However Belinda's performance does also suit on how this is one of the somewhat nicer depictions of Sayoko as well. So in other words Belinda's performance was pretty good and is a good example of the voice work in the OVA dub.
Alike her cousin Toshiyuki, Sayoko did not appear in the Ah! My Goddess! movie so instead we shall now go over the English dub of the TV series done by Media Blasters/ADV in which New York VA Karen Neill gets to take over the role here. While Belinda's voice for the role does have some appeal I must admit I do think than Karen's voice for the role is a little bit more alluring and it suits the role pretty well. However for better or for worst Karen's performance does suit on how Sayoko is considerably meaner in the series (well at first she does get nicer later). But still Karen Neill did a rather satisfactory job with the role and is a somewhat interesting change of pace for her. Overall both of these ladies did well for this role in their own way so I think I will go for a tie here.
