 1 Shout Out!
This game managed to get over 1.5 million copies worldwide in the space of 2 months. That's more than what Street Fighter 5 got in a whole year. And that game took over a year to sell more than 1 million copies. Really puts it into perspective.

Namco released an English dub teaser trailer for Tekken 7 and when the game came out no optional English dub for all characters.
COME ON NAMCO!!!

@domeshot529 Tekken wasn't really known for having an English dub for their games. All the Tekken material that was dubbed was outside of the video games & has no connection whatsoever. Also considering the characters tend to speak in their own language, what purpose would there be for an English dub? Personally, I don't see why you would need one. Outside of a few fighting games like Blazblue & Guilty Gear & Street Fighter, a lot of fighting games don't end up being dubbed. I don't see it as a bad thing.

@Shaun Ince tekken is really a big example that u dont have to speak english to make a good game, the vas still have to do a good job but u also have to consider gameplay and other factors as well

@Abdullab Voice acting alone isn't going to sell a game. It's never been the case. It can make or break the game for some people. It really depends on how invested you are in the voice performances.

Anyone else wonder how Daisuke Gori would have done had he still been alive? I've been wondering this ever since I completed Story Mode about a month ago.

I will say this though, this game is Unsho Ishizuka's best work as Heihachi. From beginning to end he owned every scene he was in.

@Shaun Ince i think given the situation of the characteer, gori would propably went all out.

Geese Howard in Tekken.

I had no idea how much I wanted this until now.

@NCZ We need Namco vs Capcom vs SNK game. With about 100 characters. 3 on 3 battles. That would be an instant buy right there.

Also Geese works really well in the Tekken Universe. Very impressed by his reveal so far. I'm very interested in seeing who the next 2 guest characters will be.

@Shaun Ince

Hell I'd even settle for a KOF x Tekken game. I'd never really put together just how similar they are when it comes to aesthetic and character style. You could have Strikers, tags, or the three-on-three team-based structure, there's so many different elements from both games to weave in and it'd work really well.

One guest character I saw suggested was Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza and that would be a PERFECT addition. He would fit into Tekken beyond seamlessly.

@NCZ

The trailer during Evo 2017 was pretty hype, even I geeked out. Could this lead to more final boss characters appearing in Tekken 7? Hope its not Dural from Virtua Fighter as she is pretty dull.

@NCZ Kazuma Kiryu would be an awesome pick for Tekken 7.

@NCZ If there's one more guest character that you would like to see, who would you choose? If it's from fighting game, I would like to see Shao Kahn because the previous two are final overpowered bosses, and it would be nice to see 4 final bosses from different universes in one game. If it's from non-fighting title, I would choose Kratos, because he has appeared in SC and MK and it would be interesting to see how would he fit and look in Tekken universe.

@NCZ I find it interesting he has an English voice for his intro and victory quotes but for his attacks are still in Engrish.

Having had this game for a few weeks now, I can say that this is perhaps one of the more fun Tekken games for me to play out of the main continuity of Tekken games(Tekken Tag Tournament 1 & 2 will always be my favorites though)

It has a pretty good story mode done in a similar way to Injustice & Mortal Kombat but focusing on the Mishima's. The transition from cutscene to gameplay is flawless.

The only negative thing? Not enough single player modes, but unlike Street Fighter 5, it has story mode & a Arcade mode right there from the get go.

@Shaun Ince Glad you're enjoying it, although it seems a little sad that just having an (allegedly truncated) Arcade Mode and Story Mode in a series known for plenty of home console content is considered "good" when juxtaposed against Street Fighter V.

@Scrappy-Fan92 I dunno what's going on, but having fighting games with less content than their previous entries is definitely an issue that needs to be brought up more.

@NCZ If I had to guess this will probably be another Tekken game where the voice cast is going to be uncredited? I know Tekken games have a history of not crediting the actors for said game. Though I would be surprised if they did credit them this time around.

@Shaun Ince Is that generally a dub-only thing for union purposes or is that in the Japanese track too?
Shaun Ince
said at 8:06 PM on Thu May 25 2017
@huzaifa_ahmed It's both. Japanese actors aren't credited either. And Tekken 4 & 5 as far as I know were the only two Tekken games that credit the voice actors. None of the other games do. But NCZ has stated that finding out the cast for Tekken 1 through 3 as very problematic. It's really odd. Some are pretty obvious, others are a mystery.

Less than a month away till this game releases. I preordered my copy from my local game store. There have been a few story mode leaks, not extremely spoiler heavy, but just enough to get people interested.

It's amazing how much this game series has evolved over the past 20 yrs. From what started as a Virtua Fighter clone ended up becoming one of the greatest fighting games of all time. The series itself has managed to stand the test of time & compete with the likes of Street Fighter, so much to where they have a Street Fighter character in a Tekken game. Man I really wish it was 2017 already so that I can play this game.

I actually got a chance to play an early build of this game on the PS4. Very impressed with what Harada & the whole Namco crew has been working on for the past two years. Once that game comes out you won't hear from me for a week xD!

Christ I hope they don't Laura Bailey M. Raven and get a real Black woman to voice her.

@TokioJapon Why would you actively wish against a minority actor voicing a (presumed) minority character?
NCZ (Admin)
said at 2:37 PM on Tue Jul 19 2016
@Scrappy-Fan92 That's the opposite of what he's saying. He's referring to Laura Bailey's role in Uncharted 4 as something he hopes doesn't happen.

Considering there is an English trailer for this game can we assume there is going to be a dual/language selection? That would be pretty cool to have. Or you could have it like Street Fighter X Tekken where you have 3 options. All Japanese, All English & every character speaks in their respective language.
Fulgore2005

@Shaun Ince Would love the 3rd option, seeing as you could choose which language each character speaks like SFxT did.

@Shaun Ince That's what I want with Tekken 7 have an optional English dub for all characters just like Street Fighter X Tekken.
Shaun Ince
said at 5:13 PM on Mon May 22 2017
@domeshot529 it would be cool, but Tekken usually has characters speak in their own language. The only reason why the dual language option exists in Street Fighter X Tekken is because that game was developed by Capcom & the dual language stuff existed back in Street Fighter 4. So I'm pretty doubtful that an option like that exists for Tekken 7.

@Shaun Ince

Not all the characters spoke their nationality's main language. For example, Lei Wulong never spoke in Cantonese, only English. Ling Xiaoyu never spoke in Mandarin, only Japanese. Lili Rochefort started out with English until TTT2. Miguel Rojo also started out in English until TTT2.
NCZ (Admin)
said at 2:18 PM on Tue May 23 2017
@akersaotome

Xiaoyu speaks Japanese because that's where she lives. Wulong is from Hong Kong where English is an official language and as a cop who works internationally it would make sense for him to speak English anyway.

If Jun Kazama does feature in this game, then it could be a game where the Tekken dads and mums are in one game. I'm interested in seeing what martial arts style Shaheen will use and his speaking language could be Arabic, which (I could be mistaken) is a first for a fighting game.

NOTE: I am aware that more characters are confirmed to be in the game due to the Japanese location test, but Tekken's spotty history of voice actor crediting had me choose to hold off until the game's release. I added the Mishimas as they had spoke in the original trailers, and the new characters because hey, new characters.

In any case, NEW TEKKEN. Get excited, everyone!

@NCZ Oh, I'm pumped all right, especially since I heard Jun Kazama might be back. Given she was one of my favorite characters in Tekken Tag 2, I pray this is true!!

Also, Happy New Year!!

@DravenRoth994

Thanks, you too! Fun fact, this ended up being the last game I added in 2014. I always try to end the year on a high note with a big, juicy title. I had been thinking of doing a different upcoming game, but the idea of doing Tekken 7 came up within the last few hours, so I decided it'd be more exciting to do that instead.

As far as characters are concerned, for me, personally, they've already confirmed Asuka's back. As long as she's in, I'm good! Given that this game's supposed to wrap up the Mishimas' storyline and even introduce Kazuya's mother, I can definitely see Jun coming back. It'd be a missed opportunity if she didn't show up in some form.

@NCZ It most certainly would!! She's been out of the picture since Tekken 2 (not counting the Tag games). Also, it was confirmed Hwoarang is back, so I'm good as well.....for now.
