 1 Shout Out!
I love this game, I really do. I know that's not a very popular opinion but that's just how I feel. It was the first Tales of game that I ever played and it's what really got me interested in voice acting, made me a fan of JYB, Laura Bailey, Chris Smith, and the rest of the cast. It has a good story, a lot of really funny moments, and the gameplay itself was really easy to follow.

What seems to have upset a lot of people was how you could recruit monsters in this game, and how the characters from the original game don't level while they're members of your party. I kind of understanding the logic in those choices though. The original cast had already pretty much been through thick and thin in the first game and the creators wanted to put them at levels where they could still be powerful and add to the combat, but not to the point where the game would seem too easy. Honestly, I liked the recruitment of monsters. I felt that it added a certain uniqueness to the game, something that made it stand out in the Tales of franchise. A lot of people also didn't like the protagonists; but personally, I love Emil and Marta. they have so many cute moments together and how they help each other grow and develop as characters throughout the game was really well done.

I remember working my butt off to try and get the perfect ending to the game, going to GameFAQs nonstop, saving at all of the right moments, completing all of the sidequests, it was fun. I was so proud of myself when I got it on my first attempt. I don't normally play games with multiple endings but I'm glad I put those feelings aside for DotNW.

I know my opinion may sound a bit biased because again this was the first Tales of game that I've ever played, but I love it nonetheless. It holds a special place in my heart and I'm happy to have enjoyed the game for what it was.
