Better than Zestiria on most levels. Has an incredible cast too with Monica Rial, Cristina Lee, Ray Chase and Ben Diskin.

What a great game. I was pretty disappointed by Zestiria but this is better on virtually every level IMO.

This is such an amazing cast! Glad to hear Cristina Vee get a lead role in a Tales game.

Why did my question get deleted? I was asking the question directly to this page? NCZ?

As I have already told you on this very page:

The reason is because the comments aren't where requests for new information go. The forums are where you would go to do that.

If you have a question then PM me.
said at 1:39 PM on Sat Feb 18 2017
@NCZ I was not asking a quest for new information as to VAs. I asked; instead, why aren't main supporting characters credited on this page. I don't find that to be a topic to be asked in a forum. I would expect it to be answered on the official Tales of Berseria page by you the admin.
said at 1:42 PM on Sat Feb 18 2017
@NCZ or should I just PM you on something like that. I find the terms too confusing. What constitutes as appropriate and not? Asking for new information is vague.

said at 1:57 PM on Sat Feb 18 2017

I mean, the answer to that question really isn't super-complicated. This is a site we do in our free time and we often lead very busy lives. We do our best but can't always get to everything immediately because there's so much else to work on here and in our actual lives. Nothing else to it.
said at 6:27 PM on Sun Feb 19 2017
@NCZ completely understood, I was just curious since I am a hardcore Tales fan, and am always curious to that of VAs. I hope I didn't trouble too terribly.

If you want something done then

A) Don't deliberately and repeatedly ignore the guidelines that have been spelled out here and in-place on the site for years
and B) Don't insult and attack people

Take a timeout please.

@NCZ Genuine question: is there a particular section of the forum where that information can be formally suggested?

Chris Cason and Kaiji Tang had roles here. I would post the links but my comments are constantly deleted.

@Crystal Edge do they play major roles? Like people we'd like to know? Trying to find a way to let you respond with getting your post deleted.

@Crystal Edge

The links aren't the reason why. The reason is because the comments aren't where requests for new information go. The forums are where you would go to do that.

Probably the best Tales dub since Vesperia IMO. Everyone nailed it.
said at 1:51 AM on Wed Feb 1 2017
@Dimentionalist I am sorry but IMO I have to disagree. I respect your opinion, I will say Eizen and Magilou were my favorite portrayals. But other than that, I don't really like. That said, I'm glad you have your own opinion. I just want you to know I don't really agree.
said at 4:06 AM on Wed Feb 1 2017
@4xNicholas Magi and Eizen were fantastic, but the sub was mediocre at best in some parts. Roku sounded horrid in Japanese and Laphi along with Eizen as well. A lot of people here in Japan--and you would be surised--that how well the dub is being received. However, the one who stole the show in the sub is Rina Sato. However, in dub, Vee did just as amasing. I have heard many Tales dub, and this one by far is on top with Vesperia's dub
said at 4:19 AM on Wed Feb 1 2017
@Ring-o-Round Wait, let me ask are you making this assessment based on the voice itself or the acting. To me the acting sounds better. Also I am not denying the success of the dub. I merely feel that it isn't something I liked. I am making my own version, I would be glad to send it.
said at 6:53 PM on Wed Feb 1 2017
@4xNicholas Well to me Ring-o-Round. The sub sounded a lot better. I loved everyone's voices, Laphi sounded like a boy, Eleanor sounded less manly girly (sorry to Erica Mendez, I just feel she best plays tomboys and little boys. ie: Ryuko Matoi and Gon) (while her girly voices like Niko from Love Live are not her thing.)

I mean in the Hot Spring side mission, when Rokurou was in Eleanor's body, that is the type of voice I feel Erica sounds amazing in and that sounds great for tomboys, calm girls or tough chicks. Also, the dub did a better hotspring scene all but Bienfu and Magilou whose voices sound annoying and unnatural respectively.

I will admit, Eizen in dub has a more booming and impacting voice. But the sub is not too bad either. Well at least it isn't jarring.

I dislike Cristina Vee's Velvet, when she is calm, she sounds good. But when she tries to portray emotion, I don't really get that consistency of the deep voice she uses when Velvet is calm. The acting is compromised for a higher voice which seems a bit out of character for me and also the portrayal of emotions Cristina does for Velvet seems too weak.

The sub on the other hand keeps Velvet's voice consistent in acting and it sounds stronger IMO.

I am using Ray Chase for Noctis and Otosaka; Lucien Dodge as Dust and Max Mittelman as Saitama as my standard for what type of acting I am looking for. Once the actors portray that level of emotion, I can happily be happy to say they did better than the sub. But, to me the Tales of Berseria dub does not have that level of acting. Even if the comparison VAs Ray Chase and Max Mittelman are in here.

That is why I dislike the dub. Despite great performances from Eizen, Magilou and Teresa. The other performances had voices I did not really like and the acting feel flat from the sub.

@4xNicholas I respect your opinion, but this is why most of us can't understand westerners hate on their own voice dubbing. 'Comparing' is something written in a human's genetic code; we all compare something one way or another be it the weather or just anything. However, most of us don't understand why do you all compare the voices to ours. The people who designed the game wanted these voices(such as Tabata for FF5 clearly stated he choice Ignis' English voice actor when many people blamed it on someone else) and yet people still find our voices superior. We just don't understand it haha. (For instance; the main character on Cowboy beebop's English voice actor was extreamley loved here. As a matter of fact, the maker of that animation had praised the English dubbing as the cast along with himself said that it was far more superior to the subbing.) Instead of comparing, you all should just see it as a different interpretation all together. Some voices changes the character in a whole. For instance; the samurai sword wielder in K-Project had a very irritable Japanese voice, but when Matthew Mercer did his voice, I loved it instantly because he did not sound like a young teenaege boy. He had a strong maturity which I found lovable.

We all have our own opinions, and I will not force you to change your's at all, so please don't think that. But I do just wish all of you westerners(most of you that is) would realize how much your American Voice actors try to bring you something amazing to the table. They, like ours, try their very best. We have classes here in Japan just for voice acting only, unlike your VAs who do not. They simply have ackting class for plays and such. So please do try to respect them more, because they certainly do try.

For Velvet's voice, you are correct that her subbing voice sounds stronger. However, the deep calmness Vee brings is what makes most of us impressed. It is soothing. For us, there were many flaws in the subbing version compared to the English version, but many English speakers will not notice because they can't understand our language, or they aren't fluent in it.

You westerners really do have amazingly talented voice actors, but it is just sad none of you really give them props either. It is just jarring to most of us.

However, it is fine to like the voice you like--I am not saying it is wrong at all, and if it soundss that way, please forgive me.
said at 5:17 PM on Thu Feb 2 2017
@Ring-o-Round I absolutely agree, that is why I love dubs and subs. I judge it based on a criteria of acting and how the voice sounds for the character. Once both those criteria are met, I can make a decision. At first, I disliked Edward Elric's english voice but after watching Vic Mignogna's performance I grew to love it more than the Seiyuu's.

I promise you I love dubs and some might know that I tried to start something where all these voice talents can come together to make more anime voice diversity and more voice actors to choose from. I know that is happening thanks to Tony Oliver.
said at 5:22 PM on Thu Feb 2 2017
@Ring-o-Round No prob, I do find really talented voice actors here. To name a few, Max Mittelman, Ray Chase, Jalen K Cassell, Ryan Bartley. I want people to recognize their love of anime and in fact their effort to make good dubs. Kill la Kill is an example of a really excellent dub. If anything compared to my friends who watch anime, I am the only one who really appreciates dubs.

Imagine all of them tease me for liking dubs. We are still cool, but they ask me why I don't watch subs. I understand what you are trying to say and I am glad to know you have your opinion. But I would use different voice actors, just wait, I will give you my rendition.

I love that Eleanor's VA's are both Ryuko. I think that's funny. Although, one thing to wonder...considering it's been said that this dub began awhile ago...I do wonder if this was more of a simuldub. It came out domestically late in the summer, & if they've been dubbing for quite some time, certainly there might be a lot more overlap between the two productions. Be pretty cool if Namco Bandai did this on occasion of the recent success of this series over here.

According to TV Tropes some of the missing VA are:
-Laphicet: Amber Connor
-Eizen: Doug Erholtz.
-Oscar: Michael Sinterniklaas.
-Shigure: Max Mittelman.

Any way to comfirm this?

@Crystal Edge Here are the confirmations on Laphicet and Shigure's VA:https://twitter.com/GLDNGRLY/status/824477114661429249

Other than those two, Sinterklaas hasn't tweeted since January 2nd, and I don't think Doug Erholtz has a Twitter account...

I wonder if they also did recordings for Tales of Berseria in Texas when they broadcast dubbed Tales of Zestiria the X?
NCZ (Admin)
said at 8:40 AM on Thu Jan 26 2017

More accurately Cup of Tea would have done recording on both the show and the game simultaneously in California, while there was a studio in Texas for the Texas actors. Christian LaMonte was an assistant voice director for Berseria and one of the main ones on the X.
said at 10:57 AM on Thu Jan 26 2017
@NCZ I'm not sure if we're allowed to say where, but I'll say we didn't record at Cup Of Tea for the anime. Christian directed us as another studio. It also wasn't simultaneously; the game was recorded WAY before we started doing the anime. Takes quite a while to localize big games like these!

Sounds like Cherami Leigh is in it, but I don't think her character is a significant one. Also Altorius sounds VERY familiar.

Despite the little dialogue we can hear, it sounds like the cast used in the Zestiria anime are back, which is pretty awesome. We also get to hear the voices for Eleanor, Laphicet and Eizen, though I can't really tell who any of them are (Eleanor does sound like Erica Mendez a bit).

@Dawnlight I also think that Carrie Keranen or Erica Lindbeck are good options as well.
said at 1:58 PM on Sun Jul 3 2016
@Dawnlight Velvet reminds me of Rias. So part of me is hoping for Jamie Marchi. But would be done for Trina is she did her Mikasa voice.
said at 3:55 AM on Tue Aug 9 2016
Velvet, Rokurou and Seres were in the most recent episode for the Tales of Zestiria anime. Since Funimation is doing a broadcast dub there is a possibility Marchi could play her; though there's no guarantee whoever gets cast for these roles would reprise them for the game's dub unless FUNi and Bandai Namco (and whatever California studio they end up using) are on the same page asap...

I won't hope for anything; rarely am I excited by the results. Nothing ever good seems to happen to VAs I like or who deserve it.
said at 8:37 PM on Fri Aug 26 2016
@Honest_Guy_Says Yeah. Like I'm pretty sure at this point they probably already have cast the voice actress for Velvet and the other characters. And heck, may have even finished their recording for the game (it seemed like Zestiria was finished being dubbed like a year before it came out). The question is, can Funimation find out who Velvet is by contacting the company? If there is an NDA hold, could the actress playing Velvet have secretly revealed herself to Funimation executives? Lot of what ifs. I'm just gonna expect a different actress for her in the anime than in the video games so I'm not disappointed.

@Bloodhsed113094 You sure about that? These are the specs for Zestiria (which runs on the same engine).

As you can see they're pretty low. Granted there are some specifics regarding drivers and stuff that might need to be double-checked, but generally speaking in theory even a computer with Vista could run it.. as can Win7, so that point's moot.

Tales games aren't power-pushing at all so the thought of them killing a typical laptop is pretty hyperbolic, but that said the Aspire One is a netbook which may introduce some problems. But since the game comes out next year in the west that still gives plenty of time to get the necessary system.
