Everybody betray me! I fed up with this Lost Wirruld!

The Deadly Six look bland to me. Not fond of their designs at all. I'm not offending anyone here.

One of the worst Sonic games that I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing. So much frustration and bitter disappointment in both the storyline and gameplay departments.

Both versions of the game are awful. The 3DS is even worse.

@ZDak That's your opinion and i could respect that but i have to disagree with you, it could've been better if they could've take parts from x-treame and modify it to make it even more Homage-y but that's just me.

This game's not really as bad as it's often made out to be. A few levels are questionably designed (looking at you, Frozen Factory), but it's quite playable. It's an interesting one-off experiment for the series. Not as ground-breaking as Super Mario 3D World, DK: Tropical Freeze, or Rayman Legends, but it's a competent platformer that any Wii U owner should at least take a look at. A 7/10 seems reasonable.

Yeah, the plot's a little thin and the Deadly Six are rather one-dimensional, but come on, it's Sonic. You've got to embrace the fact that the entire Sonic series is inherently corny, and that's why we love it.

Less to do with voice acting and more to do with aesthestic since I don't have this game- Wow the level environment looks really boring in this game after so many games of amazing environment

Lol the narrator is Sonic himself

I gotta say, I was really disappointed with this game. I didn't see much improvement from Colors and Generations, the plot just felt really disjointed and underdeveloped. There were attempts in building it up but it just didn't go anywhere unfortunately. Eggman was actually pretty good in this game, I liked his portrayal. However, I didn't really care for the Deadly Six, they were pretty much one dimensional cartoon steretypes and while Tails did get some development, his aggression just came out of nowhere and it was poorly explained. As for Sonic, he's still more of a a simpleton in this game which I really don't like. I also found Amy and Knuckles really pointless in this game, I know it was from the view of Sonic's world but removing their appearances wouldn't have made much of a difference. As for voice acting, Mike Pollock is great but this was definitely Roger's weakest performance as Sonic so far. Overall, the story was pretty shallow for me. I might post my thoughts on the actual gameplay another time.

The plots from the current games seem to get weaker and less exciting.

@Truesonic I know you posted this last month but I just saw this 2day. You should at least give the game a chance.
said at 4:15 PM on Sat Jan 4 2014
@Truesonic maybe SEGA will develop a next Sonic game for the Wii U with Johnny Yong Bosch as Sonic's younger cousin.

Well I did like the deadly six's voices, barring Travis as Zavok; he seemed VERY generic, but hey it's probably the director's fault. Mike Pollock and Kate Higgins were good too but the rest were poor IMO. :-)

@Torak I'm actually glad they got Patrick Seitz this time around for Zomom. His voice was pretty well-done.

I'm really loving how SEGA chose their voices. Zazz's voice is my personal favorite because of his New Orleans accent~

I'd love to take him home in a box

I'm sorry but ever since Colors (not to say it wasn't a good game), the stories and the dialogue have become SO lazy, juvenile, embarrassing and just plain stupid... and Sonic's personality is really starting to get on my nerves now, its like he switched the fool personality with Knuckles, and the voice acting seems to be getting worse, even the sad moments felt like they were upbeat
said at 7:46 AM on Sat Nov 2 2013
@AMT while I likedthe voice acting, especially the Deadly Six, but I completely agree with how awful the stories are, we need new writers for Sonic the Hedgehog.
said at 7:42 PM on Sat Nov 2 2013
@TrueMyriad Yeah, you're right about the Deadly Six, they're acting was great, I especially liked Zor and Zeena. And Mike always does well as Eggman. I guess my beef was with Sonic and Tails the most, they especially felt over-hammy and their lines were not well-delivered
said at 3:17 PM on Mon Nov 11 2013
@AMT I agree. Not to complain, but I do miss the Sonic that always gave quotes of inspiration, the ones that felt more emotional and in character with the story. I didn't hear much of that in Lost World. The plot was simple, but hopefully Sega will make a change to that.

I wonder how it would've turned out with the old cast...
said at 2:15 PM on Tue Dec 3 2013
@TrueMyriad Changing writers won't change how the stories are structured as long as Sega calls the shots.

Well, except for Zor and Zomom, my predictions were right, go figure.

Must get this game for birthday in November as it is apparently Roger's best performance. Ha that i'd like to see.

Game is out in Europe now (in UK time, it's early morning on the 18th).

@NCZ Indeed, but its a shame that we won't get it until the 29th...

Good to see early impressions, at least. :P

Its really good to see that Sam, Patrick, Stephanie, and Liam are making their debut in a Sonic game. :)

but yes, I found it ironic that Zomom was voiced by Patrick Seitz after hearing his English voice in one of the trailers.

Here's who I think is voicing the Deadly Six.
But just remember, this is just MY speculation!

Zavok: definitely Travis Willingham.
Zazz: either Troy Baker, Liam O'Brien, Kirk Thornton or Vic Mignogna.
Zeena: most likely either Stephanie Sheh, Cindy Robinson, Karen Strassman or Kate Higgins.
Zik: probably William Frederick Knight, Mike McFarland or Kent Williams.
Zomom: Kyle Hebert, maybe.
Zor: either Sam Riegel, Roger Craig Smith, Yuri Lowenthal, Johnny Yong Bosch or Matthew Mercer.
said at 9:28 AM on Mon Oct 7 2013
@MilanTheVillain01 It's not gonna be Mike McFarland or Kent Williams. They're not in the area where Sonic games are being recorded.

@VGAfanatic My bad, I can't recall that many actors that are very convincing at voicing old men off the top of my head.

@HedgehogsRule Unfortunately, the Sonic games are non-union, and those are all union-only actors. :/
said at 7:00 PM on Thu Oct 10 2013
@HedgehogsRule He means that they are a part of the SAG-AFTRA (sp?) union of voice actors, and thus cannot participate in non-union projects, like the Sonic games.

@HedgehogsRule Allow me to explain, since I'm sure I can make it easier to understand.

You know how a lot of jobs have trade/labour unions, right? If you don't, a union is an organization made of workers who work with their employers to ensure a high quality of employment conditions.

The main actors' union in California for voice acting (as well as acting in general) is SAG-AFTRA. Virtually all major voice acting work for western animation and animated films, as well as western games, has been done with the approval of the union, so members of the actors' union are free to participate in the project.

If something is non-union, it means that the voice work is being done without the approval or consultation with SAG-AFTRA. This is usually done on projects with lower budgets, such as English dubs of Japanese anime and games. It is against the rules for members of the union to work non-union projects (although many still do on the down-low--they use pseudonyms or choose to go uncredited in order to avoid getting into trouble).

The voice actors you've mentioned are union members who exclusively work on union-authorized projects (some of them have worked non-union in the past, but have chosen to stop for whatever reason). A lot of the major western animation VAs are union-only. The English dubs of Sonic games are not unionized, so all of the actors must in theory be either people with financial core status (meaning they are union members who can work non-union without getting into trouble), or union members using pseudonyms or willing to not receive credit for their work. Make sense?
said at 6:47 PM on Tue Oct 15 2013
@NCZ Exactly. This is also why we never see Kari Wahlgren or Steve Blum in non-union anime anymore.

Plus, I think Laura Bailey rarely does non-union voice work anymore, but she's still Blaze and Omochao in the Sonic games nonetheless.

said at 7:50 AM on Wed Oct 16 2013
@HedgehogsRule They do, but they only work on unionized anime dubs. For example, Naruto is a union dub, hence why they voice characters in that show. The majority of anime dubs are non-union.
NCZ (Admin)
said at 7:13 AM on Thu Oct 17 2013
@HedgehogsRule It's union because its English dub is authorized by SAG-AFTRA. Those voice actors you mentioned only participate in unionized anime, movies, and games.

said at 6:15 AM on Fri Oct 18 2013
@HedgehogsRule Yes, I am well aware of that. As I said before, the voice actors in the Sonic games ARE union members either using pseudonyms/not taking credit for their work, or are financial core status and can work on both non-union and union projects freely. So there's nothing stopping them from working on union projects.

@HedgehogsRule Neither one is supposed to do the other, but some union actors work in non-union projects anyway. There are also actors with Financial Core status who are allowed to do both.
said at 3:11 AM on Mon Oct 21 2013
@NCZ You're the first person I've seen effectively explain the difference between union and non-union voice over work. The subject has always confused me and it's not something most voice actors shed any light on. Thanks.
said at 9:01 PM on Mon Oct 21 2013
@HedgehogsRule It's not BS, it's about making sure the actors get compensated fairly. Actors pay to become a part of the SAG-AFTRA so they get standard pay all across the board and benefits for their families. You'd be surprised how little some of these voice acting jobs pay especially anime dubbing.
said at 7:49 PM on Wed Oct 23 2013
@HedgehogsRule Wow, calm down...

Anyway, non-union work generally doesn't pay anywhere near as well as other voice-acting gigs, especially ADR/anime-dubbing, as T-Flow mentioned. The Sonic games are (mostly) non-union in order to be as conservative as possible. Most of the VAs are fi-core so that they'll still be able to maintain a steady income.

said at 8:12 PM on Wed Oct 23 2013
@HedgehogsRule It's not stupid, a union is just a good way of ensuring that the actors are fairly compensated. And non-union is just a way for companies to save money at the arguable expense of ethics.

They actually don't get paid as much as actors who are working in unionized environments, since there's no set minimum Sega is required to pay them. A reliable user on the Sonic Stadium forum has mentioned that the voice actors don't make a whole lot for the Sonic games. In fact, they were going to get Ryan Drummond back as Sonic for Colours onward, but he refused to leave his union and work for so little compensation, so we got a totally new cast instead.

@HedgehogsRule Well, I suppose you could put it that way, but in their defence, Sega hasn't really been in the best financial situation lately.
said at 1:08 PM on Thu Oct 24 2013
@NCZ Hence, why Sega purchased Atlus, correct?

Here's what I'm thinking based on the latest trailer:

Zavok: Travis Willingham
Zazz: Liam O'Brien
Zor: Vic Mignogna
Zomom: Kyle Hebert
Zik: Kirk Thornton (Pretty much certain, even before I heard his english voice I had a feeling it would be Kirk)
Zeena: Stephanie Sheh (Pretty certain as well)
said at 7:33 PM on Mon Sep 23 2013
Zeena definitely sounds like Stephanie Sheh.
said at 9:17 PM on Mon Sep 23 2013
@VGAfanatic To me, she sounds like either Cindy Robinson or Karen Strassman (more so, the latter).
said at 3:45 PM on Tue Aug 20 2013
New gameplay from gamescon had voice clips of Zor and Zazz. It sounded like Zor was voiced by Rodger Craig Smith.
said at 9:33 PM on Sun Aug 11 2013
I know it's hard to judge who voices with the Deadly Six, so far.

But, from what little dialogue I heard, I think Zavok is voiced by Travis Willingham.
