Man oh man, this looks really great. Mana is a series that seriously needed to be revived after all those sup par games where they tried new genres out.

Hopefully it'll do well with the public.

@AleVesper

Full 3D remake of the original for PS4/Vita/PC. Like the 3D remakes of FFIII and IV.

@NCZ I was not expecting them to remake this game almost 25 years later.

@NCZ That sounds awesome! Hopefully this ends up being successful, and they also think of doing it for Seiken Densetsu 3.

Feels like 25 years has been the magic number for remakes as of late. Fire Emblem Gaiden got remade 25 years later. Samus Returns a bit older at 26. And now this one. I totally welcome it; it always makes me so happy to see older games get a revival like this. Now's a great time too; I've always considered 90s to be the Golden Age of gaming, and so far I feel pretty comfortable calling the 2010s almost a Renaissance of sorts.

@EmperorBrandon

Yeah, I'm stoked!

SD3 has been a white whale for years but I think the stars are aligning. On top of this clearly stoking the flames of a full remake, Square Enix also released a collection of the original three Mana games on Switch. Some people are hoping they take this as the perfect chance to finally translate the SNES original. The opportunity seems way too good to pass up a remake, but I'd be totally down for option 2 as well if they can pull it off. Heck, why not both...?

@NCZ Can you imagine a Chrono Trigger remake in 2020? It seems like Square-Enix has gone out of their way to ignore that series, but a boy can dream.

God, don't tease me like this. I'd have a heart attack if such a thing happened.

@NCZ ......This has got to be the biggest thing to excite me in years. At least from Square.

Blows the FF7 remake out of the water, in my opinion.

It's funny. As stoked as I am for the FFVII remake, it was something people had been begging for for years. So its announcement was massive from the sense of, "About time, they actually did it!"

Remaking Secret of Mana is a bit more out-of-left-field and a real surprise for sure. Although, I actually forgot about it, but they released a remake of Mana 1 on Vita and mobile last year. This one seems to be a bit bigger in scope now that it's on PS4, PC, and has full VO. Remembering that, it actually does make me pretty hopeful that SD3 will come along next.

@NCZ I've always been pretty mixed about the FF7 remake. On one hand, I'm pretty excited myself. But on the other hand, it just doesn't look that it'll have that charm the original had.

What really excites me about the Secret of Mana remake is that the Mana/Seiken Densetsu series hasn't been acknowledged by Square in years. Looks like a great way to revive the series, in my opinion!

@NCZ Can't disagree with you there. I feel the same way.
