Was this game a victim of the voice actors' strike?

@Heroshii15 I doubt there were any roles to reprise. But if you must know some of the games that were effected then I know Life is Strange Before the Storm, Cyberdimension Neptunia, and Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 all were.

@Heroshii15 Not really. These characters had never been voiced prior to this game.

Formosa were one of the struck companies but this is the kind of game that would have been non-union anyway.

@Soul-dragon Erin not returning for the latest game was because of the strike? Isn't the series non-union?
said at 6:14 PM on Wed Mar 21 2018
@Marakutanay Neptunia wasn't a game affected by the strike as far as I know, but Erin did mention she wouldn't be returning to the game unless it was on a SAG contract

@numbuh34 It's basically the same game with worse music and bad voice acting.

 3 Shout Outs!
Man oh man, this looks really great. Mana is a series that seriously needed to be revived after all those sup par games where they tried new genres out.

Hopefully it'll do well with the public.

@RetroPokeFan Aaaaaaaaaanddddd... what a disappointment this turned out to be.

The remixed soundtrack is mind bogglingly atrocious, it's a good thing the original soundtrack is still available.

@RetroPokeFan That and most of the voice acting is really poor.

Shame really considering we have guys like Chris Cason, Brianna Knickerbocker, Bill Rogers and even Jarred Kjack from Dynasty Warriors 9.

Even big of a shock is that Amanda Wyatt and James D. Mortarello were the voice directors... ouch I guess?

@RetroPokeFan Every director has their weak spot. For Patrick Setiz it was Fire Emblem Warriors, for Wendee Lee it was Danganronpa V3, for Jonathan Klein it was MVC Infinite and for Caitlin Glass it was Cardcaptor Sakura Clear card. It's things like this that make you cringe into your soul with disappointment...

@Soul-dragon @RetroPokeFan don`t forget Andrea Romano and JL: War

Full 3D remake of the original for PS4/Vita/PC. Like the 3D remakes of FFIII and IV.

@NCZ I was not expecting them to remake this game almost 25 years later.

@NCZ That sounds awesome! Hopefully this ends up being successful, and they also think of doing it for Seiken Densetsu 3.

@Shaun Ince

Feels like 25 years has been the magic number for remakes as of late. Fire Emblem Gaiden got remade 25 years later. Samus Returns a bit older at 26. And now this one. I totally welcome it; it always makes me so happy to see older games get a revival like this. Now's a great time too; I've always considered 90s to be the Golden Age of gaming, and so far I feel pretty comfortable calling the 2010s almost a Renaissance of sorts.

Yeah, I'm stoked!

SD3 has been a white whale for years but I think the stars are aligning. On top of this clearly stoking the flames of a full remake, Square Enix also released a collection of the original three Mana games on Switch. Some people are hoping they take this as the perfect chance to finally translate the SNES original. The opportunity seems way too good to pass up a remake, but I'd be totally down for option 2 as well if they can pull it off. Heck, why not both...?

@NCZ Can you imagine a Chrono Trigger remake in 2020? It seems like Square-Enix has gone out of their way to ignore that series, but a boy can dream.

@Nightmare Crusher

God, don't tease me like this. I'd have a heart attack if such a thing happened.

@NCZ ......This has got to be the biggest thing to excite me in years. At least from Square.

Blows the FF7 remake out of the water, in my opinion.

It's funny. As stoked as I am for the FFVII remake, it was something people had been begging for for years. So its announcement was massive from the sense of, "About time, they actually did it!"

Remaking Secret of Mana is a bit more out-of-left-field and a real surprise for sure. Although, I actually forgot about it, but they released a remake of Mana 1 on Vita and mobile last year. This one seems to be a bit bigger in scope now that it's on PS4, PC, and has full VO. Remembering that, it actually does make me pretty hopeful that SD3 will come along next.

@NCZ I've always been pretty mixed about the FF7 remake. On one hand, I'm pretty excited myself. But on the other hand, it just doesn't look that it'll have that charm the original had.

What really excites me about the Secret of Mana remake is that the Mana/Seiken Densetsu series hasn't been acknowledged by Square in years. Looks like a great way to revive the series, in my opinion!

@NCZ Can't disagree with you there. I feel the same way.
