At first it was not released in North America, but it received its debut as part of the Samurai Shodown Anthology released in 2009. Samurai Shodown VI is actually a game that is pretty much a mixed bag to presumably fans and critics alike. My words? {shrugs} I've seen footage of this installment to a rather underrated fighting game series and to tell you my honest opinion: it's alright, but somewhat lacking as well.

One gripe I have with VI is the character voices (aside from the new characters, to some extent). In the predecessors, I enjoyed how nearly each character sounded. For this one, I don't get the same feeling as much; obvious examples are Basara, Enja, and Earthquake. Luckily the Anthology version has some of the original VAs as well...

To put it in more simpler terms, I'm hoping SNK Playmore can make a true Samurai Shodown successor in the future; one that isn't Sen, mind you. The King of Fighters XIII treatment would be pretty fitting as well! :)
