This is a mash-up of VA's from many different things.

I originally played this game at a club I go to every 2 weeks on a Thursday (you may have seen me mention it in the forums) and I really enjoyed it so I decided to get it. It gets boring after a while (in my opinion) but nevertheless, it is still a fun game 2 play.

Where are there two different games?

@pete Ultimate MVC3 adds 12 new characters, stages, new modes, balance changes, there's new voice acting, and other things I'm probably missing. Basically, it's this game, but complete. Capcom does this a lot. After 20 years, you just have to get used to it...

I became addicted to this game, I love super crossover games like this. Nice voice cast too

This might be old news, but I just want to clarify: it's been awhile and nobody has contested it, so we'll say Kari Wahlgren is Jill's English VA. Hopefully, all Japanese Seiyu will be added soon.

@SM Scorx I'm just wondering, are you obsessed with Jill or something? You seem to be at least a big fan of the character (which is perfectly fine, btw).

What makes no sense about MvC3 is that many fans had a tendency to complain about characters such as Venom, Strider Hiryu, Gambit, or even Megaman (X, maybe) not being in the roster since Capcom wanted to find 'new blood'... This time, I'm not going to blame them, though, since this installment to the series is still pretty damn fun and the majority of fans who were complaining are those who really aren't that deep in fighting games, and would rather play Street Fighter IV over a solid fighter such as the powerhouse, Tekken 3. Overall, MvC3 is a great fighting game with a solid engine, well-balanced roster (*cough* not including Sentinel, Phoenix, or, to a lesser extent, Zero *cough*), Capcom assembled a unique voice cast, but I still prefer earlier crossover titles such as Clash of the Super Heroes or New Age of Heroes (minus the unbalanced reasoning)
Replysaid at 1:37 AM on Mon Jul 11 2011
@Ninjaman15 Agree with you on most of this. The funny thing is, those who wish the roster had Blah and Bleh probably still bought the game :P
In any case, my only disappointment is that each character didn't get a story arc. The cinematic intros set up such a potentially great story, but we just got a couple of frames in the ending credits for each character. I understand there are so many characters, but still :(
Sentinel actually got patched a while back and while still powerful, isn't AS powerful as he was at launch. Phoenix I understand because that's her most known power, becoming Dark Phoenix. Zero I've not heard of any unbalanced issues.

@Foxwolf Exactly, I do agree on the "character story arc" of yours... In fact, Niitsuma and his team were promising an actual plot that had a striking resemblance to the BlazBlue franchise, which, apparently, is one of the fewer fighting games to have an actual story since it, well, attracts anime nerds such as myself.
Otherwise, the only gripe I have with Zero in the game is that he HAS to be voiced by JYB, who, once again, is an incredibly talented voice actor, but at the same time, extremely overrated... Though some of Zero's abilities seemed to improved, however... Just wished his Lvl 3 Hyper Combo from TvC was brought back.

@Ninjaman15 Completely agreed. I demanded story arcs for each of the characters and found the addition of Sentinel (generic one, no less) complete and utter blasphemy. Most importantly, JYB is pretty overused. I would have liked it much better if Lucas Glibertson reprised the role of Zero.
Replysaid at 3:22 PM on Fri Jul 22 2011
@pokemastanumba1 I might've considered Lucas Gilbertson as well, but no... Capcom just had to use overrated VA talent. But then again, that doesn't matter. By the way, have you heard about the announcement of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3? It's supposed to come out in November and has a few things: twelve new fighters, eight more stages, new modes, and balance tweaking... I'll say this right now: this is at best a great deal, if only Capcom would just stop making the same game just as an update! They're milking money profits and after the cancellation of Megaman Legends 3, it's making me have to lose loads of respect for the company... Even SNK or Midway wouldn't stoop this way! Completely my personal opinion, my friend.

@Ninjaman15 Typo on "way"; I was going to say "low", but my fast typing just ignored that... Sorry
Replysaid at 8:37 PM on Thu Dec 15 2011
@Ninjaman15 Capcom almost ALWAYS makes updated versions of their best-selling fighting games, so of course I saved a LOT of money by waiting for the Ultimate version. :P
But yeah, Capcom is really letting itself down. Cancelling not one but TWO Mega Man games and milking profits from updating MvC3 is a new low, even for them. It's just horrible how they take advantage of the economy, but oh well.
I REALLY wish they had a story mode(s) to this game. The recently-released Super Edition of SFIV even expanded on that of the original, so why couldn't they do even a single thing for (U)MvC3?

I love the voice cast in this game. It's not every day you get to hear Charlie Adler, Tara Strong, and Jennifer Hale in a fighter.
Replysaid at 3:09 AM on Wed Jul 20 2011
@NCZ Not to mention Michelle Ruff, Susan Dalian, and Tom Kane. Another three of the best LA-based VAs, and it's great they're finally lending their talent to a fighter as well.
Replysaid at 4:22 PM on Wed Mar 2 2011
It'll probably be Tara Platt as Jill, because she's already in the game and has apparently voiced her previously.
Also, Jared, the only source that states that Kari is Jill is Wikipedia.

@SM Scorx You have a source for that? And so what if Wikipedia states any of that?! Not all of Wikipedia's information is the truth, so be it... Wikipedia has a few editing done by a few people that aren't exactly powerfully smart. In fact, one can think that the supercalifragilistic feeling is not in place for that. Therefore, I do believe I jumped the gun saying that Kari Wahlgren is the voice actor for Jill in MvC3, whilst trusting a site that rarely gives out any sources.
Replysaid at 6:07 AM on Tue Mar 1 2011
Waiting for March 15th won't be much of a problem to confirm Jill's voice actress already, since it's actually Kari Wahlgren who provides the voice. Yes, I was shocked! And I'm like most people out there who wanted the STARS version a lot more because the Resident Evil 5 one seems just terrible. But that's really all a big opinion. My one true problem with this game is with the roster complaints... For the love of God, why can't people be happy for who's already in? Back then, fighting games with short rosters never mattered, and it shouldn't today. DLC character requesting is nearly so high that many people want the likes of Venom (Eddie Brock), Gambit, Megaman, Strider Hiryu, and most likely Phoenix Wright. Fate of Two Worlds worked successfully as a worthy sequel to New Age of Heroes, and now people are starting to treat the game like crap. Someone needs to build a time machine that sends us all back to the 1990s to relieve our childhood. Isn't that all enough?!
Replysaid at 9:12 PM on Tue Mar 1 2011
@RedHumanJared15 totally agree. while I myself would like some personal favorites to appear as DLC's, I still love the overall roster. back in the day, there was hardly any internet, no leaks, no dlc's, what they released is all we got, period.
lol, we're such old farts :P

@Foxwolf For me, that's how original and inspirational it was... And before you say anything else, I really don't know a lot about the 1990s other than the media since I was born around the early-mid 90s. All of us never really cared that much anyway and just enjoyed every last minute of our childhood watching Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers and playing Sonic the Hedgehog 3 on the Sega Genesis and then some... It's still a shame to admit that I wish I would've been born near the end of the 80s so experiencing the 90s on full fledged impact would help me understand more. But other than that, all people see fighting games nowadays for are character rosters and the quality of graphics.

ReplyHow do you know it's Kari Wahlgren? I'm sorry, but I would like to see a source.
said at 3:43 PM on Wed Mar 2 2011
@SM Scorx Is it really necessary for a source? Because I got nothing... In all due respect, most people are saying it's supposed to be Wahlgren, anyway. Try to find a source that has Jill's voice actress being heard in Resident Evil 5 (Patricia Ja Lee) and then later compare it to the one on MvC3... They may even sound different. I recommend a future Jill Valentine voice compare for this site or go on YouTube. That helps (I guess)... Sources nowadays are so meaningless that even know they're helpful, the internet is getting weaker and so is everything else in America. I'm an American who is not proud to be one at all... What say obtain telekinetic abilities and then transport over to Japan for some better fun and entertainment? In my opinion, that would be awesome!

@SM Scorx The voice acting coordinator would not reveal Jill's voice actress for some reason, but he did say that fans will be pleased with who they got. I personally hope it is Patricia Ja Lee.

Who here thinks there should be more Capcom villains in this game? I vote for M. Bison.
Replysaid at 4:44 PM on Tue Feb 8 2011
MvC3 looks great already... But I just wish Sentinel wasn't in this game. And seriously in my fairest opinion, he seemed too overpowered in the last game and a roster of over 50 characters is just... {sigh} So many characters to choose from and you don't know whom. And there was no story mode, either :( But hopefully a Wii release can be expected if the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions sell a lot well. I know they are a lot of people who want to play this, now
Replysaid at 12:34 AM on Wed Feb 9 2011
@RedHumanJared15 couldn't agree more. the Marvel universe had so many more awesome characters to choose from. I personally think that roster choices were made purely from personal favorites from Capcom developers.

@Foxwolf
If they wanted Sentinel so bad, they could have at least used a more unique one, like Master Mold, Nimrod, or Rover, instead of a generic one.

@mvc3warrior yeah, I think its the last. the banner I updated at the top of the page is the last scene in that video which I think leads right into the game. And all against all battle. I hope it's not the last ep, the cinematic direction is kickass. Plus they haven't put Hsien-Ko or Sentinel in the eps yet.

Apparentlty, someone leaked the info (the guy on twitter) and most of what he said (ex: character info, etc.) has been revealed as correct. According to that guy, Frank was in the game, but they took him out because one of his specials took up a lot of RAM (with this in mind, I'm thinking it was a special involving the DR Zombies rushing the opponent). A more productive solution, in my opinion, is to just get rid of that special. I, too, was upset at the news. I just hope he is put back in as DLC.

it would be sweet if they have as many cutscenes as MK vs DC. Street Fighter 4 only had the intro scenes that were sick looking. the pro and epilogues for the characters were done in the cheap anime styles.
Replysaid at 4:53 PM on Mon Dec 27 2010
like in the trailers. there's so much "let's make them look real" CGI out there nowadays, it's no longer unique. to stand out, studios need to use 3D animation software to come up with your own style like MvC3 and the ink style in Street Fighter 4.
Replysaid at 12:25 AM on Tue Dec 21 2010

unfortunately I think marvel/capcom empty our pockets dry with continuous DLC's with new characters or pull a street fighter 4 and do "Super Marvel VS Capcom 3"
