 1 Shout Out!
I very much enjoyed this game. Elizabeth got a lot of credit, and I felt like Booker got less credit than he deserved. Troy Baker did a very nice job.

 3 Shout Outs!
I've seen some comments [not just here] saying that this game is very overrated. I had just gotten the game for Christmas and played a good portion of it today and yesterday.

I'm going to have to go into the majority of the reception and say that this game is amazing. But here's my take on it.

The game is shrouded in a very opaque layer of mystery and disbelief. I'm probably halfway through the story, and I've still not entirely figured out this universe. To me, this is the video game equivalent of the 1998 film Dark City (the world's most underrated film, IMO). Much like the protagonist in Dark City, in this game, you are thrown into a situation and expansive setting you aren't able to figure out so easily (it's easier to deduce the options of the Elder Scrolls games), and only by small acts of chance and few major points do you learn more about the environment of your surroundings.

It also evokes the same trait of Spirited Away, and that's in the backgrounds. The minor details in this game are just wonderful. There's always something going on in the backgrounds; there's always details put into the world that has been created and put in front of you. Everywhere within, there is substance dripping in the smallest of crevices.

I'm not as big of a player of video games as I was years ago; my decline in interest has gone down in the past couple of year. The only very recent games I've played were L.A. Noire, Fall of Cybertron, Skyrim, and part of the Assassin Creed series (I, II, and III). By these standards alone, I'm probably not qualified to say that this game is the one of the best to come out of recent years. But I will say that it most certainly is the best game that I've ever played to date. Once I've finished the game, I want to do an honest and full review of this game.

I understand if people don't like it, and I can see how they don't like it (I haven't played the original BioShock games, and if you don't like this game because of its connections to the others, then I'll totally understand...). For me, however, this is an adventure that I will continue to go on over and over for the remainder of time. :)

@DreamMaster08X Infinite isn't a sequel to the other Bioshocks but Rapture is referenced a couple times.

 4 Shout Outs!
I know this game has it's fans, but I never fully got into it. I was really disappointed how they handled the powers and removed a lot of the RPG elements, it wasn't nearly as immersive as the original Bioshock, none of the characters interested me, and I was just plain bored.

I played it all the way until right after you fought Lady Comstock's ghost and I was just so bored that I stopped. Not even the voice-acting stood out to me except for the Lutece characters. I thought Booker was bland as toast and I only thought Elizabeth was marginally better. Eh, whatever, I thought this game was hollow, soulless, and boring.

@PsychicVoiceSpy You better watch out for the fanboys! Strangely it's refreshing to me to hear someone not being so amazed by this game.

@Heartfilia Mage 721 I was considering going after The Last of Us a little too, but I'm a little afraid of touching that one. :P

@PsychicVoiceSpy I think you should go for it! I find the gameplay to realistic and difficult and the story is one of the best out there. You won't regret it!

@Heartfilia Mage 721 I've already spoiled most of the plot for myself by watching/reading about it online, and the gameplay style honestly doesn't appeal to me. Thanks for the recommendation though. If I do play it, I'll put my full thoughts on it's page here on the site.
