Not gonna lie, this game was kinda disappointing.

Graphics and voice cast is nice but in terms of writing, boss fights, characters, and overuse of the batmobile, I feel this game could have been a whole lot better.

Despite the game itself and some of the replacements being less than stellar, I would still say the game does boast a stellar cast with both US (Troy Baker, Patrick Seitz, Keith Silverstein, Steve Blum, Matthew Mercer, Mark Hamill and of course Kevin Conroy) and UK (Tom Clarke Hill, Colin McFarlane, Jules De Jongh, Kerry Shale and Glenn Wrage) talent.

One of my favourite casts even.

Really hope Rocksteady makes a Superman game after this one. Poor Supes doesn't have a good or great game yet.

If the game has George Newbern as Superman, Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor and Dana Delany as Lois Lane, then I'm in.

According to Keith Silverstein, he was the one who voiced Lex Luthor in the game:

Haven't played the game myself, but I would imagine this was how people who have played the game felt.

How come Joker isn't on this page anymore?

He never was.

@GreenGoblin75 Really?
said at 9:02 PM on Wed Jun 29 2016
@GreenGoblin75 I was sure I saw it a few months ago. I think I remember clips from the Joker's monologue in batman's head. I mean I could be wrong, but that's how I remember it.

I hate that excavator boss SO MUCH.

Other than the overused batmobile, this game rocks.
said at 11:38 AM on Tue Jun 28 2016
Ironically, I beat that boss right after I posted this.
said at 1:20 AM on Wed Sep 14 2016
You're not the only one. It'd be much better to do if the Excavator moved at 75% its current pace. It gives a sense of a chase while at the same time making it moderately.

Looks like Mac/Linux users won't be playing Arkham Knight anytime soon.

@Fulgore2005 Warner Bros' track record with PC games in the past year or so has been shocking. I'm not a PC gamer myself but man, I absolutely feel bad for anyone who is. MKX has some pretty bad stuff going on too with the upcoming XL pack, from what I heard.
said at 12:45 PM on Thu Feb 4 2016
@NCZ It's really quite embarrassing. It doesn't help that WB has also caused a debacle with AK's Season Pass. $40 for content that is (IMO) worth around $12-15?

It's not surprising players feel turned off. I'm also amazed that those who didn't like Origins prefer it over this game. WB really has screwed up last year.
said at 7:14 AM on Thu Mar 10 2016
@NCZ Also found out that only TWELVE people were involved with the PC Port. And that this is the second game on the PS4/XB1 (Besides Borderlands' Handsome Collection) to have been ported by Iron Galaxy.

But again, WB has done a terrible job last year. A shame, seeing as Mad Max (game) actually has a decent PC port in comparison.

Aside from a lack of boss battles and a plot twist that you can see coming from a mile away this was a pretty satisfying conclusion to the Batman Arkham series.

@LordofEvil96 Didn't you think you were wrong about your Jason theory too?
said at 6:35 PM on Thu Sep 3 2015
@pete Yes I did, but it wasn't until they started to show clips from the death in the family arc when I realized the twist.

@LordofEvil96 Was trying to be humorous, oh well didn't write it that well.

Thinking it over I would have preferered the Court Of Owls as the villains, with the Arkham Knight as their leader being a mystery villain.

What is it about the 3rd instalment in a Batman series that always ends up disappointing....Maybe Batman isn't meant to have a finale.

Man the re-castings here are disappointing. I know many of these actors could have done better. I chalk this up on the voice director, if it was Andrea Romano it would have been so much better.

also they shouldn't have got Troy Baker to do Arkham Knight. He has enough roles in this series, they should have picked someone who wasn't involved with the series as much. I'd probably would have cast David Kaye since they recast him Gordon and come on wouldn't that have at least been cool? I really dislike that they pretty much didn't even have him as additional voices.
said at 1:04 PM on Sun Aug 30 2015
@Autovolt Funny you mention the voice direction.

AK's VO Director (Amanda Wyatt) was the same woman who directed Origins, which IMO, had some very refreshing recasts (Bane, Firefly, Joker and Black Mask as examples) and even bought in lesser known VAs (like Dave Mitchell, Laura Waddell, Rosa Salazar and Stephen Tobolowsky). Heck, she managed to get Robert Constanzo to reprise too, which was a huge surprise.

Admittedly, I agree that some of the replacements and the Knight for AK were kinda underwhelming. A pity, because the game had a great overall cast (Including the likes of Tom Choi, Courtenay Taylor, Phil Proctor, Michael Rosenbaum and Loren Lester).
said at 10:43 PM on Sun Aug 30 2015
@Autovolt Technically this is the fourth.
said at 9:31 AM on Sun Sep 6 2015
@Fulgore2005 Oh I was not aware of that actually.

Yeah I don't know what happened with Knight especially since Origins casting choices were far more interesting and inspired.

speaking of Lester. it was bizarre they had him here as Man-Bat when they should have had him reprise Nightwing instead.
said at 7:22 AM on Mon Sep 7 2015
@Autovolt Guess they wanted to try something different for Lester. I think he did a great job as Kirk.
said at 1:45 AM on Thu Feb 25 2016

No offense, but that ship sail after Catwoman and Barbara Gordon had different voice actors, despite Adrienne Barbeau being in the first game and Tara Strong in the second.

said at 1:36 PM on Mon Jan 30 2017

Gretchen Whistler, the doctor with a German accent.

If I remember correctly, Mark Hamill said he would gladly return to play the Joker in a heart beat if there was an adaptation of The Killing Joke in some way, shape, or form.

I believe there are a few scenes in the story that make reference to The Killing Joke, but don't quote me on that.
said at 10:36 AM on Sat Aug 1 2015
@MilanTheVillain01 Actually, Joker does make several taunts to Batman about Oracle's crippled back, and there's even a hallucination showing how the Joker broke into her house and shot her, straight out of The Killing Joke.
said at 12:52 PM on Mon Aug 3 2015
@loredragonmaster I was delighted to see Mark as the Joker.

 1 Shout Out!
It may not be as good as Arkham City but dam is it still a pretty awesome game.

Having Mark Hamill back as the Joker was a surprise considering he was said to have retired from the role. But as always, it was a pleasure to have him.

Kevin Conroy needs no introduction obviously nor do I even need to say anything about him as we all know he's awesome.

John Noble is awesome as Scarecrow. He's very calm & collective while sounding ever so intimidating. I'm still in the process of deciding but I think he could quite possibly be the best voice the character has had so far.

Jonathan Banks was excellent as Gordon. If he's not too busy portraying Mike in Better Call Saul then he needs to do more VA work.

The reat of the voice cast all did great jobs as well.

Not going to spoil anything but the story is engaging and I had a blast trying to follow it.

Game play is solid although during my first play through, I had to take a bit of time to get used to controlling the Batmobile but thankfully that didn't long.

Also, I feel bad for the PC gamers. Hopefully that version has been patched out by now. If not, then hopefully at some point very soon.

said at 3:35 PM on Tue Jul 7 2015
@Ross123 Yeah, while I'm not a PC gamer, it's pretty obvious WB really crapped the bed with the PC version. It's not the first time they've done stuff like that either. The new Steam refund feature is a godsend for displaying the message that releasing low-quality products is a terrible thing for the industry all-around. Hopefully it'll dissuade further publishers from trying to pull that kind of stunt.
said at 11:50 AM on Wed Jul 8 2015
@NCZ I'm not much of a PC gamer either but I do know that Steam tends to have a lot of crap or unfinished products on it.

I think the main reason as to why that version of this game was so buggy was due to the fact that Rocksteady was focusing more on making the game for the consoles.

But yeah, the Steam refund feature is pretty neat. Although the fact that this game was pulled from Steam came off as a huge shock to many of us console & PC gamers alike.
NCZ (Admin)
said at 12:05 PM on Wed Jul 8 2015
@Ross123 Last I heard the port was outsourced to a different team. Still, WB should know better than to release a low-quality product in this day and age, and that delaying something to make it better is the better long-term option than rushing something out the door and making themselves look bad.

While the whole situation shouldn't have happened in the first place, at least they managed to admit they screwed up and pull it from the marketplace.
said at 12:29 PM on Wed Jul 8 2015
@NCZ Here's hoping that they learn from this mistake for future games they plan on porting over to the PC.

And it's good to see they were honest about screwing up.
said at 7:13 PM on Mon Jul 13 2015
@Ross123 I saw my cousin play this game, and I'm not disappointed. Like you said, it may not be as good as Arkham City, but it's a pretty awesome game. The casting is excellent, the performances are great (my favorite being Ashley Greene as Oracle) and the story is really engaging.

NCZ (Admin)
said at 5:05 PM on Tue Jun 23 2015
@Nightmare Crusher Whoa, you're right.

Random guess, just throwing out ideas, but maybe she was initially credited as "DeLisle" and then asked to change it.

She was mostly credited as DeLisle through 2014 (when the game was originally supposed to be released before the big delay), and only recently has she begun being credited as "Griffin".

So it's probably a clerical error of some sort. Maybe she asked to have the name updated and they simply added in the new one without removing the original, maybe whoever was handling the credits thought "Grey DeLisle" and "Grey Griffin" were two different people, I dunno. I'm just throwing ideas out there, don't take this too seriously.

@NCZ I don't have this game yet, but I know enough about it so I can piece together some things.

I would think Ashley Greene also plays Batgirl given that she also plays Oracle.

Troy Baker is also Red Hood. It's obviously him and I don't want to say more because spoilers.

Those are the only new voices I've figured out so far. I'll come back later.

So, now for a list of reprisals

Crispin Freeman as Firefly
Martin Jarvis as Alfred
Mark Rolston as Deathstroke
Tasia Valenza as Poison Ivy
Grey DeLisle as Catwoman
Khary Payton as Azrael
Marl Hamill as the Joker

That's all I've got for now.

@Lpfan120 "A delayed game is eventually good. But a bad game is bad forever."

If something happened that caused the game to be delayed for two entire thirds of a year, chances are that it'll be better off for it and we as consumers will end up with a much better product than the one we'd hypothetically be playing now.

@Lpfan120 Has that been confirmed? I agree that it sounds like him and lots of other people seem to be listing him as Scarecrow, but I just wonder if there's any factual evidence supporting John Noble voicing Scarecrow.
said at 8:55 AM on Sun Jun 15 2014
No, no confirmation yet. At first in the "Evening The Odds" trailer, I thought it was John DiMaggio, But after hearing his little speech in the gameplay demo, I'm pretty certain that it's John Noble

Also, I think Tara Strong might be back as Barbara.
said at 9:07 AM on Tue Jun 17 2014
@Lpfan120 I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that it's not known who voices Barbara.

And besides, what's wrong with Kimberly Brooks? Shouldn't she reprise the role.

said at 4:37 PM on Thu Feb 12 2015
@Lpfan120 For some reason Wikipedia claims it's now Crispin Freeman. And even though that sounds like a match made in heaven for me (seriously one of my favorite voice actors + one of my favorite Batman villains) I can't find any evidence of this, especially since the "source" doesn't claimed it once.

Delayed to 2015.

Seems like a massive number of next-gen games that were supposed to come out this holiday are being delayed... I dunno why, but my prediction that this next-gen is going to be off to a rocky start for everybody seems to be coming true.
said at 9:09 AM on Tue Jun 3 2014
@NCZ NO!!! I was so looking forward to this game.

Or maybe that's a good thing considering I won't get my PS4 til Christmas this year anyway. Oh well, that gives me more time to okay other games I get for the system. And to top it all off, I won't be late for playing it as I normally am.

After that statement, I don't know whether to smile or cry my eyes out.
NCZ (Admin)
said at 9:23 AM on Tue Jun 3 2014
@Ross123 I'm glad to see your optimism; it's missing from most game communities. Delays for AAA games are actually good in some senses, since as you mentioned it gives more time to catch up on all the other games there are, plus other titles that would've been lost in the shuffle get moved to the limelight. Q4 is always busy, so some crowd control can't hurt too much.

But yeah, the delay is a shame since the PS4 and Xbone could really use a big hit like Arkham Knight this holiday season, but in the end it means a better, more polished game. I'm pretty curious as to how the end of the year turns out. It'll be really interesting to say the least. I guess we'll have a better idea next week, after E3.

The PS3 and 360 still have steam with all of the cross-gen games, Nintendo have the potential to turn the Wii U around, and Sony and Microsoft need to justify their new consoles to early adopters and potential new buyers. I'll be grabbing a big bucket of popcorn for sure...
said at 9:41 AM on Tue Jun 3 2014
@NCZ Well hopefully the delay is worth it in the end. Like Asylum & City before it, I'm hoping for great scores like 9/10. It would be ashame for it to not be up to the standards of those games especially since its the last in the series.

Say, that's another good thing. The Arkham series will last a bit longer. And when this game comes out, Boom! The series is over.
said at 3:43 PM on Tue Jun 3 2014
@NCZ A shame it's going to get delayed.

But who knows? Maybe they intend to take their time with the game and make it as flawless as possible.
said at 3:48 PM on Tue Jun 3 2014

Boo, in that I have to wait longer, but hopefully they are indeed taking their tome to make the best product.
said at 7:07 PM on Tue Jun 3 2014
@NCZ Ugh. Oh well. I suppose this does make sense. When it comes to the explosive finale of the final Batman Arkham game I want Rocksteady to take all the time they need to make this. I don't see thsi delay as a hindrance, but rather Rocksteady's boldness. They're determined to make a game that we don't need, but a game we deserve.

No offense, but I honestly hope not. No offense to Bryan Cranston as he made a good Gordon in the Year One movie, but for once, I'd like to see one of Gordon's voice actors from the prior Arkham games reprise the role instead of it getting recast yet again.

@llawliet159 I have a cuestion if bane appears in this game(I hope so) who do you think that should voice him?

@facundo guerra 4 I feel like JB Blanc should reprise his role as Bane. He's the best Bane voice I've ever heard so far.

@TheVengeanceKnight and sadly it sounds like David Kaye has been replaced.

I mean I always thought David Kaye was kind of miscast as Gordon and should have been Ra's Al Ghul but I would have been ok with him still being Gordon had they gave him more to work with.

I just want David Kaye to get some more major roles. :( I feel like he hasn't be getting as much as I'd like.

I HEARD, AND I AM HERE. LET US DISCUSS. No joker this time? I think it's a good idea just to have 1 game without him.

@Regomania Well it think it's after City, so yeah...jokerless

@GothamRed I agree. From the trailer we've been given the main villain is going to be Scarecrow. So having him behind the madness is going to prove for a pretty interesting story.
said at 9:29 PM on Sat Mar 8 2014
@LordofEvil96 Either Scarecrow or the Arkham Knight.

@LordofEvil96 Reggie shouldn't be that ready because this is skipping Wii U for whatever reason

@NCZ And that pisses me off. Its bad enough I found out the Wii U financially flopped, buts its also not getting this and Sleeping Dogs: Triad Wars (Seriously its being released on EVERY CONSOLE except the Wii U) among others? That's just infuriating!!!

@DravenRoth994 I'd wait till Smash Bros. and Mario Kart before deciding if Wii U is a flop or not. 2014 will make or break it, I feel. I love Nintendo but they kind of dropped the ball in not pushing it enough in terms of marketing. Shame because it's a great system with some outstanding games and major potential. Developers and publishers these days are too afraid of taking risks, which is a problem affecting the industry as a whole.

@NCZ Well it did actually flop in terms of sales, but yeah, I agree 100 percent!!! They're just not giving it a chance.
