Just like with Spectacular a lot of potential set ups for a third season as future seasons in general only for all that potential to be wasted and ruined by the network or company.

The ending to the series was not as sad as Teen Titans but it was very stupid. (Spoiler Alert warning!) 1. WHY DID THEY KILL OFF WALLY? I mean seriously he was a major character in the series, and he was the 2nd best comic relief character I've ever seen. 2. Do none of these writers even attempt to stand up to the network? Apparently not since they the network kill this somewhat masterpiece. 3. They teased a freakin' 3rd Season with effing DARKSIED in it when they aren't going to make a third season. After watching the very last episode I felt the need to hit my head against something so now I am extremely frustrated now.

@Mrguy22594 1. Way to spoil the episode for everyone, genius. Crap like this makes me wish mods were able to delete and report users for these type of comments.
2. The writers can't do anything and it's not their job to do so. They could lose their jobs and they've got families to feed.
3. Yeah, I know.

@D.A.V.E. I gave a spoiler warning before I said what I said. 2. You do have a point about that but I was just so enraged at how lazy this ending was. But then again at least it wasn't Mass Effect 3.

@Mrguy22594 The script and episode were probably written before it was canceled blame CN.
Replysaid at 8:02 AM on Sun Mar 17 2013
@pete I do blame Cartoon Network for making poor decisions on keeping viewers on their channel ever since Teen Titans cancelled. That show had an entire sixth season planned.
Replysaid at 3:39 PM on Sun Mar 17 2013
@Mrguy22594 I'm guessing that would have resolved the Terra arc?
Replysaid at 4:30 PM on Sun Mar 17 2013
@pete Yes it really would've and that would actually give us the resolution we as loyal viewers deserve. Since CN canned this series I was enraged with how plain lazy it was, as a season finale not too bad, but as a series finale I think What the hell!?

@Mrguy22594 to be fair, it's hard to avoid a spoiler alert when you put them in both in CAPS.

When I first saw this show, I thought to myself that this show will eventually have a cast that will be just as good as Justice League/Justice League Unlimited. Now that the series is ended, I think they do. What do you think?

An interview with Greg Weisman reveals nearly the full list of designations on the League, Team and guests.

There's 3 characters on the team Troia, Lt Marvel and Sgt Marvel that haven't been mentioned in the series afaik.

RIP Young Justice. Hey guys, if Season Three were to happen, which it won't :'c, which characters and storylines would you like to have seen explored. I would love to see Supergirl, and have Apokolips be the main threat, with Darkseid being the big bad. I'm not sure if Cyborg, Raven, or Starfire would fit into the series, but hey, I thought we would never see Nightwing, Tim Drake, Beast Boy, or Impulse, so whatever.

@VctrBnsn They were already designs for Cyborg in Doom so he could have been a member of the Justice League here like in Doom.
Replysaid at 11:46 PM on Wed Mar 6 2013
@pete Very true. But the more I think of it, I think Supergirl would be a hard fit, with Superboy already in the picture.
Replysaid at 12:41 AM on Thu Mar 7 2013
@VctrBnsn We've seen a design for her in DCAU Original Animated Movies but Greg Weisman is picking lesser known heroes in addition to lesser known ones which is why he picked Superboy over Supergirl. I don't think Supergirl's deign would fit. It's a bit too old for the team
Replysaid at 9:52 AM on Thu Mar 7 2013
@pete Which is also why they are staying clear from many characters from Teen Titans. I'm surprised Beast Boy even made it, let alone Deathstroke.
Replysaid at 3:44 PM on Thu Mar 7 2013
@VctrBnsn Just the series though there are a lot of Titans from the comics. The original team was Robin/Dick Grayson, Kid Flash/Wally West, Aqualad, Speedy, and I think Wonder Girl/Donna Troy though she did join at some point. Other members overtime are Robin/Tim Drake, Bart Allen/Impulse, Superboy/Conner Kent, Miss Martian/Mehgan, Wonder Girl/Cassie Sandsmark, Blue Beetle, Static, and of course Beast Boy so there are plenty of Titans characters on the show just not many from the series. Also Greg Weisman said it mixes characters from the Titans and Young Justice comics.
Replysaid at 4:26 PM on Thu Mar 7 2013
@pete Yeah, I just meant the series. If they couldn't use any comic Titan characters, they wouldn't have a show now would they ;p ?
Replysaid at 9:15 PM on Thu Mar 7 2013
@VctrBnsn Unless they made all the teenagers up and only used the Justice League.
Replysaid at 3:24 PM on Fri Mar 8 2013
@VctrBnsn To add to it Starfire had design from Public Enemies. I would have liked her as an ally the team rescued from the Reech. Blackfire could have been portrayed as reach agent who betreayed Tamoran and the Tamoranians to the Reech.
Replysaid at 6:50 PM on Fri Mar 8 2013
@VctrBnsn Only one without a design. Robin's Beast Boy's was made up and Cybrog and Starfie as previously mentioned already had a design in DTV films that YJ's animation. Cyborg and Starfire just have to be animated but Raven has to go through the entire process completely before being animated so she like BB would take a while.
Replysaid at 7:10 PM on Fri Mar 8 2013
@pete I see. So, what non Teen Titan characters would you like to see if Season 3 were greenlit ( screw you CN!! )
Replysaid at 3:06 AM on Sat Mar 9 2013
@VctrBnsn I'm gonna agree with the users below about Darkseid. I also want the League to have more screen time like in Season 1 and characters like Plastic Man to get a VA.
Replysaid at 2:51 PM on Sat Mar 9 2013
@pete I would like to see the JL members get VAs to. This is who I think can voice them.
Plastic Man - Rob Paulsen
Hawkman - Fred Tatasciore
Hawkwoman - Jennifer Hale from IGAU
Black Lightning - Blair Underwood from the Thunder and Lightning shorts.
Hal Jordan - Scott Porter

@VctrBnsn If The Creeper is shown Rob should voice him. I'd like Tom Kenny to do Plastic Man in a serious adaption but Greg Weisman probably won't allow that so I'll say Josh Keaton.
Replysaid at 3:12 PM on Sat Mar 9 2013
@pete Why do you think Greg Weisman would not allow Tom Kenny to voice Plastic Man?
Replysaid at 4:00 PM on Sat Mar 9 2013
@coolgeek176 He's not much for reprisals. He wanted Young Justice to have an almost completely original cast, with the exception of a few like Bruce Greenwood as Batman. I think thats a good call.
Replysaid at 4:07 PM on Sat Mar 9 2013
@pete By the way, Rob Paulsen would be a FRIGGIN AWESOME Creeper. I'm not sure if I can see Josh as Plastic Man though, but I may just be ignorant to the full extent of his range.

ReplyDoes it please you to watch us suffer?

@VctrBnsn Lol same. It's more likely to make Greg Weisman suffer. Disney probably made a call to Cartoon Network and said "Cancel Young Justice at the end of the season. it will be funny".
Replysaid at 10:50 PM on Sun Mar 17 2013
@pete Oh well, I guess I just have to move on with my life, just like I did with Spectacular Spider-Man and Wolverine and the X-Men. At least we got a line out of Black Lightning by Phil LaMarr. I was half expecting Hawkman to get a line, possibly from Bruce Greenwood, but it never happened. Flash sounded like Jason Spisak.
Replysaid at 1:05 AM on Tue May 7 2013
@VctrBnsn Just realized that they ended at 20 instead of 26. They should got an additional 6 for the Darkseid story. They could have "resurrected" Wally in the end and maybe even made him Flash, done more with the characters like Bart and Static and explained Endgame a bit more. I mean what would they have titled Season 3 Invasion Apokolips style? Darkseid should have been the series finale.
Replysaid at 9:33 AM on Tue May 7 2013
@pete DUDE! You're totally right. 6 episodes is more than enough to get a Darkseid story going. Oh well, it's to late now.
Replysaid at 10:12 AM on Tue May 7 2013
@pete If they did get 6 extra episodes, I would've rather they used that time to spotlight some underexposed Team members (Batgirl, Robin III, among others).

@pete Blame Beware the Batman, in all honesty, Beware the Batman shouldn't even exist. Why do their have to be cartoons that make the dark knight look like a friggin wimp?!
Replysaid at 6:03 PM on Wed Mar 6 2013
@LordofEvil96 We've barely seen anything from BTB, how can you tell they made him a wimp? ;-)
Replysaid at 6:20 PM on Wed Mar 6 2013
@TheVengeanceKnight For one thing it's meant to replace Batman: The Brave and the Bold, which was campy enough. And they're toning down Professor Pyg and Mr. Toad, and I may not know much about either one of them but they both sound like villains that a 5 year old would come up with, and from what I've heard they're portrayed very violently in the comics. So if these 2 villains are so violent then why does their animation debut have to be such a campy show?
Replysaid at 10:34 PM on Wed Mar 6 2013
@LordofEvil96 From what i read of pig in the comics he's a really disturbing villain. Didn't find anythin on Mr. Toad though. By your logic any 5 year old can name a character Mr. Zzazz and look how dark he is. He can't even appear in most media.
Replysaid at 10:40 PM on Wed Mar 6 2013
@pete I was referring to their names, not their back stories.
Replysaid at 12:51 AM on Thu Mar 7 2013
@LordofEvil96 Ok th en that's fine but how do you this show will be campy? Since I used Mr. Zzazz already I'll use him again. Mr. Zazzz is too violent to be shown on anything outside of the Nolanverse and a video game so far and in he was toned down to his nature. If an Original Animated Feature was made that featured Mr. Zzazz, Professor Pyg, and Mr. Toad with a completely accurate version of their comic counterparts it might as well be rated R. If Batman TAS or he New Batman Adventures tried to do an acccurate version of Mr. Zzazz censors wouldn't be too happy about it. You can tone a character down without putting on a campy show. It can be a serious show like TAS or TNBA just with some alterations to characters.
Replysaid at 8:11 AM on Thu Mar 7 2013
@LordofEvil96 I'm pretty sure BTB is meant to be a return to the darker and more serious Batman, a la BTAS, in a contrast with BatB.
Replysaid at 10:01 AM on Thu Mar 7 2013
@LordofEvil96 I wouldn't hate on a show before I see it. Wanna know what my thoughts were of certain shows before I saw them?
Spectacular Spider-Man - Gonna suck. The animation sucks. It won't be as good as 90's Spider-Man. Won't Watch IT!
Wolverine and the X-Men - Gonna suck compared to 90's X-Men.
Avengers : Earths Mightiest Heroes - Disney just bought Marvel so this is gonna suck.
Iron Man : Armored Adventure - TEENAGE TONY!! FAIL!!
Green Lantern TAS - CGI, really. Go back to traditional animation.
Those are my favorite shows now, and now I think it sucks THAT THEY ALL GOT CANCELLED >:O. Maybe we'll feel the same about Beware the Batman.

@TheVengeanceKnight yeah, I did a comparison a while back too and he's not as raspy in YJ as he was in RH. He also sounded a lot more energetic in RH. Of course dialogue-wise, he had a lot more to work with than he does in YJ.

@TheVengeanceKnight
I think Jamie Thomason (YJ's voice director) is a talented voice director, and I believe the cast choices for the Team members show it. But I do wish that Greenwood's Batman had the chance to display a wide emotional range in YJ like he did in Red Hood- but he's not the show's focus, so I guess it can't be helped. I guess that's something we can agree on.
Random bit of trivia: YJ is the first DC animated production since the days of the DCAU that doesn't have Andrea Romano as voice director. Don't get me wrong- I adore Andrea Romano as a voice director. She was a big reason why my childhood was so awesome.

Regarding Season 3, Greg Weisman posted this on his website today.
"And as I've already stated here and in the press, the second season ALSO takes place over a coherent six month period: between New Years Day and Independence Day. It's just that five years pass in between the two six month periods.
And I'm warning you now: our plans for Season Three - if we get one - involve another time skip between the last episode of Season Two and the first of Season Three. Though, I'm not going to state how long a time skip. (So don't ask.)"

The ONLY thing I dont like about some of the characters on YJ is that most of the male justice leaguers have this God-like attitude in their voice, they all have these deep voices and talk as if all shall kneel to them, theres not much variety in the voices, save for Captain Marvel, flash and green arrow.
I also don't like the how most of the league all have the leader personality, that works with some characters but you gotta keep the personalities a bit different, some leaguers were meant to be leaders like Batman, and superman and others need that kind back-seat, follower personality
Basically, just a lack of personality in the league, of course there not exactly prominent but still

@Music Meister it WAS a bit of a shock to me but I thoroughly enjoyed the episode. The premise reminds me a lot of JLU, with the team expansions. Granted that means character development will likely be minimal with all the characters now. However, I liked the character interactions that I saw in the latest ep.
Personally I love shows that grow their characters in both development AND in physical age and looks. So while the 5 year gap is rather huge, I think it would've been better to age them gradually throughout the episodes and seasons. Let the audience grow WITH the characters.

@D.A.V.E. Reading this now is kinda funny, considering there IS an alternate future in this show...kinda. :-P

@Foxwolf
That's why I've always liked younger heroes; we get to see them grow and develop into older heroes. :-)

@TheVengeanceKnight and there's a better chance the kid audience can relate to them.
Had there been another season, I think it woulda been cool to get a teen Kyle Rayner join the Team.

@Foxwolf Wait, this show has a kid audience? I find that difficult to believe considering how hard this show tries to be "adult".
Replysaid at 7:11 PM on Mon Feb 11 2013
@CatsTuxedo Just because something is serious doesn't mean kids don't like it. I know kids who like this show.
Replysaid at 10:51 PM on Mon Feb 11 2013
@coolgeek176 Cats' question was moot to begin with. Why would a show on Cartoon Network not have a kid audience and be able to last 2 seasons. Obviously it didn't reach a large enough audience to justify longevity, but there's no way "adults" sustained the show on their own.
Replysaid at 12:01 AM on Tue Feb 12 2013
@Foxwolf Actually, for these last few years, CN's been putting a bit more focus on their older viewer demographic, hence the increased presence of TV-PG shows on the channel, though that's probably beside the point.
Replysaid at 12:16 AM on Tue Feb 12 2013
@Foxwolf Yeah, that would've been cool. He's always getting shafted when it comes to GL adaptations. :-(
Replysaid at 7:21 PM on Tue Feb 12 2013
@CatsTuxedo good to hear. why restrict your audience to just kids when you can have tweens, teens and what not as well.
Replysaid at 2:38 AM on Wed Feb 13 2013
@CatsTuxedo Believe it or not, kids are more intelligent than people give credit for and are capable of understanding sophisticated storytelling like YJ.
Replysaid at 4:12 AM on Wed Feb 13 2013
@TheVengeanceKnight Understanding storytelling and truly appreciating it are two different things.
Replysaid at 2:22 AM on Thu Feb 14 2013
@CatsTuxedo are you telling me you can appreciate a story without understanding it?
Replysaid at 2:10 PM on Thu Feb 14 2013
@Foxwolf Guess I didn't word that clearly enough. What I meant to get across is that appreciating storytelling takes a lot more than merely understanding it. Sure, you might get what's going on, but whether you care or not is another matter entirely.
Replysaid at 7:44 AM on Sat Feb 16 2013
@CatsTuxedo I see nothing to suggest that they won't appreciate it.

Anyway, yeah this show was good but no where near Teen Titains good. Although I found M'gann unbearable, she just gets annoying but the show is good and the animations are really good.

@Music Meister I completely agree with you; while it certainly doesn't even compete with Teen Titans, it's still one of the best DC animated series, and the only decent CN show in a while. :'(

@Music Meister Young Justice is good, but Teen Titans will always be a classic.

I saw some of this show when putting together Mr. Freeze's voice compare. The art and animation really impress me, and it seems like a more serious spiritual successor to Teen Titans. Maybe I'll check this out sometime.
