 3 Shout Outs!
Hearing David Kaye as Megatron in this Series REALLY makes me want to Hear him as Galactus.

I know this show has some controversy among fans but I really loved the dark premise it took in showing what would happen if the Decepticons actually won. Kaye had the big honor of portraying Megatron as the Ruler of Cybertron and he did not disappoint

Also the introduction of Jetstorm. Brian Drummond was really fun as the character.

@Abdullab Despite all the other fans think, I honestly prefer this show over Transformers Prime.

This show really was one of those dark shows that was well-handled. Plus, there still were some fun moments, mainly from the Vehicons and, in the second season, Rattrap (some of his scenes with Botanica really made me chuckle).

@Abdullab Despite the flaws, I do like this show to an extent.

And yeah, Drummond stole the show as Jetstorm. He'd make for an excellent Deadpool with that voice.

A while back I bought Beast Wars The Complete DVD Series since I enjoyed watching it on TV during my childhood.

But I never watched Beast Machines... I've heard plenty of bad things and overall word of mouth indicates it's a huge letdown.

Any fans want to convince me that it's worth giving a chance? Or am I better off not knowing?

Like many I survived watching the completely unnecessary Dragon Ball GT, so if it's as bad I could suffer through it. :)

@Jackson_H Depends what kind of TF fan you are. If you liked Beast Wars, G1 and Prime then I think you will probably enjoy Beast Machines. If you are more into Animated and Rescue Bots then I'd probably steer clear. I personally for the longest time liked Beast Machines better than Beast Wars. That was probably mainly because it was darker and a bit less 'comical' and thats what I prefer in this franchise.

If Botanica ever appears in the Movies, I wonder if Marcia Gay Harden could voice Her. What do you guys think?

Would have been very cool if Peter Cullen voiced the Optimus Prime Hologram...anyone agree?

This show gave me nightmares as a kid.

You can't tell me those faces and thin, lean body designs were not intended to be creepy.

@TheLemsterPju Still have yet to watch the show, but as far as artwork impressions go.... yeah, they do look rather.... disturbing.

Just started watching this. Really not as bad s it sounded. I like that Cheetor gets to shine. I'm getting to the "controversial stuff" right now but I don't think I'll mind it. Writing isn't the best but what writing in any Transformers series is?

@pete Prime's writing is pretty good

@Music Meister LOts of plot holes/unresloved stuff though.

@pete Actually, Beast Machines probably has some of the best writing in the franchise. The biggest detriment to the series as a whole probably came from its relative darkness.

@Music Meister Eh...TFP's writing really isn't... For a single episode out of context? Sure, depending on the episode. For the show as an entire series from start to finish? Bleh...

@TylerMirage I saw some of the "controversial" stuff the day I wrote this or at least a day or two after and don't thin it was that bad. Sure there's plot holes with Beast Wars but Waspinator is comic relief so they brought hi back so fans could enjoy him one last time for 5 minutes. Still have to finish Season 1 though but I think the characterizaion and plot are good but would have less criticism if the Beast Wars writing team returned instead of having a new one. Not the worst example though cough* Energon cough*

@TylerMirage Unfortunately, I have to agree with that. They had so many cool things to work with in the show, but there were so many plot-points (like seriously, Silas and MECH were so pointless in the end that it hurt my brain) that just ended up dead in the water and characters killed off in stupid ways... I am overall pleased with TF Prime though. It has so many great performances, great animation, and "F*** YEAH!!!" moments that sorta make up for it.

It was a little disappointing in the long run, but I had plenty of fun watching it, so I can't complain too much.

@PsychicVoiceSpy Yeah, I enjoyed TFP as well, though not as much as I *should* have. I won't bother posting my full thoughts on TFP here... I'm pretty sure there's a forum somewhere here where I just let loose against TFP, ha ha. Summed up, TFP is basically "ball=dropped".

@TylerMirage Are you serious about the writing in Prime? I think we may be polar opposites when it comes to this franchise lol

@OptimusSolo I agree with you that its darkness was a definite 'pro' for Beast Machines. I completely agree with that. What I was saying was that the biggest complaint that *I hear about* is that it's "too dark" (which I disagree with).
said at 4:41 PM on Thu Feb 12 2015
@TylerMirage The biggest complaint I've heard about was the writing and how inconsistent it was with Beast Wars. I also heard that the writers were specifically instructed to not follow the continuity of any of the previous series, which for G1 I guess I get, but since this is supposed to be a sequel to Beast Wars, if they really chose to ignore the original then...yeah, that's pretty much why I've never watched this. Maybe I will someday, but from everything I've read about it I'm just thinking it'll most likely irk me overall.

@Metabad Also on a purely superficial level that might be nitpicking on my part, I can't really say those character designs appeal to me at all. Megatron looks alright especially for what he is in that series, but other than that...
