When I watched this dub I think Zach Bolton possibly made the biggest miscast, and J Michael Tatum's take on the script was lackluster. This mainly has to do with how the lines were made and the fact that Bolton chose Brina Palencia to voice Yuno. In the dub, the script goes up and down with how it is written and while some lines can be clever and stick to the original dialogue, a majority of changes made during Yuno's signature yandere scenes along with Brina's lackluster delivery cringeworthy. Seriously, in her main tandere face scene unneeded dialogue is added and Brina's acting sucked the yandere out of Yuno since she made Yuno sound like an emotionless robot most of the time, especially during important scenes. In addition, the unnecessary dialogue continues in most of the dub and it just makes Yuno out of character most of the time and less of a yandere.

I just watched the first four episodes of Future Diary. So far the show is decent nothing remarkable not much more to say on that front now for the dub itself. The english cast is one of the best assembled this year for english dubbed anime but the dub itself so far falls under the category of terribly average thus far.The problem lies with its ADR director Zach Bolton who I genuinely believe is the lesser of his ADR director kin at Funimation. The Future Diary dub is about on par with Zach's previous dubbing efforts in the last year its certainly a serviceable dub but it lacks conviction. Zach's dubs simply cater to an endless cycle of mediocrity which is unfortunate considering the cast of Future Diary is fantastic. That aside Zach's unimpressive directing skills haven't stopped me from enjoying the performances of Kent Williams & Josh Grelle. I've come to accept the fact that I'll never be to impressed with Zach's dub work but even an average dub can produce respectable performances. I'm not quite sold on Brina Palencia's Yuno just yet but Emily Neves's Minene holds a considerable amount of potential which isn't surprising. The dialogue so far in the english script of Future Diary has ranged from being ridiculously intelligent sounding to cringe worthy horrid so its an rather odd mix I would say. I'll comment further on my initial thoughts on the dub once I finish watching the series in the near future. I'm hoping that the dub & the performances from its cast will improve considerably as the dub progresses into its later stages but only time will tell if this becomes a possibility or simply wishful thinking.

I could see Brina Palencia playing either Yukiteru or Yuno but mostly it would be Yukiteru & Monica Rial is an obvious choice to play Muru Muru.

Love this series! I'd love to voice act Ninth (Uryuu) for a fandub but I can't so I decided to share Yuno with my friend :P!
