 2 Shout Outs!
Had a bit of free time a while ago and saw this on Netflix, I figured I'd watch a few episodes for nostalgia. I watched the whole thing.
Considering what we're getting from DC recently, this felt like breath of fresh air.
The twist on Batman lore is really nice and refreshing, we got some really interesting takes on the villains. Some nice change of some origins and really awesome designs. I mean, just look at Mister Freeze!
It's a shame some people were turned off by the art style of the show because the animation does some really nice visuals. Like how the sky was more of a dark red to indicate night instead of the usual black or blue. One one scene that stands out to be is where while Batman is in the Batmobile, someone calls Bruce Wayne but what's interesting is that you never see Batman talk as Bruce Wayne, when he talks he's in shadows because he's in a tunnel or it'll just be a close up of Batman's mouth talking. It's such a little detail but it adds so much to the scene.
Speaking of Batman's voice, Rino rocks as Batman. Theses days every Batman voice we get is the deep and gruff "SWEAR TO ME" voice so Rino's higher voice is so refreshing to hear. He still nails all the best parts of Batman: he's mysterious and threatening. Heck there is a scene where Batman *slightly* raises his voice at Batgirl and Robin and he sounds indimadating when he does.
The voice cast in general was pretty spot on.
While the plots aren't as deep as Batman TAS and it focuses more on gadgets and weapons that were probably done to sell toys, it tells its stories well. I never saw an episode that I thought didn't do everything it needed to do. Only somewhat disappointing episode was the Dark Knight Returns based episode, that one was pretty weird.
The show isn't perfect though, there are some lines that are a little too cheesey (Batman does some one liners that can get pretty eye rolling) or just feel pretty dated (mostly coming from either Robin or Batgirl). Or the fact that Yin was a really interesting character that had a different interaction with Batman...and then Gordon comes out of nowhere in the show and we never see her again. Seriously, Gordon comes in at the end of season 2 with no explaination and then the next seasons we never see Yin. She gets a reference or two but that's it.
Overall, this show holds up well in the more important aspects and it was nice to see something a little different from the Batman franchise.
I give this show a 9/10

I'm not really a fan of this show, while it had it's moments, the Kabuki Twins were good original villains, and some of the voice acting was good, but the characters had a much more kiddie and cartoonish feel than those seen in the 90's animated series and its kin, and that the various Batsuits and gadgets and many action scenes were intended to inspire toys for kids to buy, plus the animation was sub-par namely when it came to the character designs.

This show was actually pretty cool tbh. The highlight of the show was definitely Kevin Michael Richardson aa Joker. He basically stole every scene that he was in.

 9 Shout Outs!
I remember when this first came out it got a lot of hate. Back then I actually never watched Batman: TAS before it so The Batman was my first exposure to the character via. I thought it was a solid show and had some good voice work. I of course later did watch the DCAU (back during the early days of youtube when everything copyrighted was available for your free illegal viewing pleasure) and then understood the praise was well deserved but I still believe The Batman for a stand alone show was good.

Season 4 especially was really great.

Agreed, and I really enjoyed that- The Batman actually did an excellent job of tackling Dick Grayson's story in particular, imo:

They Should Of Added Two Face

@B.A.Alcantra I might be wrong here, but I think they weren't able to add him because of the Dark Knight, I think it had something to do with contracts or rights or something, but I'm not 100% sure.

@Metabad That was the case for Scarecrow. Clayface was kind of Two-face in here. Similar backstory and origin.

@B.A.Alcantra Some villains were omitted due to rights issues but Clayface kind of had his backstory and origin
