I know quite a few people like Matthew Kermit Miller as Tenchi but I find him to be horrible in the role. There are a few people I like in the dub for instance Jennifer Darling & Petrea Burchard are quite solid in what is a inconsistent dub at times. Matthew's goofy voice for Tenchi is just very distracting I feel that even as time went on he never really improved in the films or other Tenchi shows but that's just my opinion. I did find him to be rather decent as Sojiro Seta tho.

@IAMTHEVASTUNIVERSE What?! Tenchi's English dub is a classic! Granted, it is 18 years old, and Matt's voice wasn't the strongest of the cast, but he got really good in Universe and the movies.
My favorite voice performances in the show (a couple of which are also some of my favorite voice performances of all time) are Petrea, Sherry, Jennifer, and Ellen. I can't imagine their characters with different voices. They all helped make the show memorable and distinct. This is a very talented group of voice actors (many cast members have also done quite a bit of work on American cartoons, such as Jennifer, Debi, Mona, Ellen, and others). Jay Hopper was also really good in his roles (especially Tenchi's Father), and of course Wendee Lee was awesome as usual.
No, it wasn't perfect, but what cast, of any kind, is? XD This is about as good as it gets for 90s anime English dubs, and it's one of my all-time favorites (from any era), and I'm certainly not along on that.
Overall, I think the production was it's best in Tenchi Universe. It was after the cast had come into it's own, and before things started getting messy with GXP and OVA 3 (which both seemed to be pretty rushed IMO).
