I forgot to say this but this series has the best Spiderman opening EVER

The animation was okay for the time, better than some flash cartoons of today

Great performances, great stories, stylish music and great comic book style visuals make this show one of my all-time favorites.

I'd highly recommend watching Josh Keaton reads spiderman memes. They're freaking hysterical.

Len Carlson is one of the best voice actors I know. He did phenomenal as the voice of Green Goblin and Loki.

I've seen episodes of this show on YouTube and they suck. But to me personally, all superhero cartoons until the 90s were awful.
The only things I liked were the theme song, Jameson's voice acting and Vulture's voice acting in later episodes. If you like this show then more power to you, maybe you're seeing something that I'm not.

@Starscreamsfan Sorry if my comment makes you cry but I just couldn't get inti this show or any of the other superhero cartoons from the 60s-80s. They just weren't for me I'm afraid.

@Ross123 I'm chalking it up to the animation I guess, I notice most look EXTREMELY outdated compared to other shows even at the time, I saw one of those Marvel Mash up stuff before and I noticed that
This is a little better than some of the others I ran into but the animation seems more outdated than what I saw of Speed Racer when it was on Cartoon Network(what a 60s anime is doing on Cartoon Network on 2000 I have no idea) and Speed Racer is just as old

@HienFan I personally thought the animation was quite dynamic in season 1, and a lot more atmospheric in seasons 2 and 3. I loved it, it was definetly a step up from Marvel Super Heroes' cool comic book stills with minimal movement added.

@Starscreamsfan Well the landscape(can you believe I pay attention to those?) is really pretty
To be fair the animation is far far better than Speed Racer New Generation, I'll try to see this show when I finish more of my anime collection

@HienFan Well, seasons 2 and 3 are filled with those beautiful watercolor backgrounds.

@HienFan You have to remember that this show had somewhat of a low budget so they couldn't use more up-to-date stuff at the time. Also, I think back then nobody cared as long as it was in colour.
To me, the animation looks fine, I'm not an artist but some of the designs are quite good.
As long as people enjoyed the show then the animation shouldn't be a problem.

@Ross123 I said it was better than a modern show called Speed Racer New Generation, I'm not sure if the latter had a good reason, it looks even worse than many old cartoons with low budget somehow and it was done on computers
Unless the fee for an episode is 1000 bucks(10000 is already considered crazy low) or something

@HienFan Well my response was in line ro what you said in your 1st comment before you go on to mention Speed Racer.
I really can't comment on whether or not the animation in Speed Racer is bad as I hadn't heard of the show until now.

@Ross123 Speed Racer aired on Cartoon Network from where I come from, it looks pretty out of place with the other toons at the time being the only non american cartoon

@HienFan Just looked up images Speed Racer. Yeah it does look bad. And it got some poor reception too.
The animation used for 60s Spiderman looks better in comparison.

@Ross123 I dunno if you are talking about that modern one or the really old one with Peter Fenandez as Racer(Well he was on the new one for the first season but that's another story), I thought the old one was pretty cool in a so bad it's good way
Still later episode Vulture sounds very good

@TheVengeanceKnight I don't think so. The fact that it's pre-1990s doesn't mean it sucks.
Replysaid at 11:52 PM on Tue Feb 24 2015
@Starscreamsfan Neither is the other way around to be fair, I didn't like the first Pacman toon beyond voice acting but thing is with the ease of making cartoons now with the aid of computers there is a lot of very familiar voices than there was before the 2000s
Replysaid at 1:06 PM on Wed Feb 25 2015
@HienFan You do have a point there. I respect all the modern cartoons, but I really feel pre-2000s cartoons are becoming extremely underrated.
Replysaid at 2:22 PM on Sat Jul 21 2012
Quite possibly the most unintentionally hilarious cartoon I've ever seen.
Replysaid at 7:35 PM on Mon Aug 20 2012
@NCZ It definitely had the most memorable theme song, that's for sure.
Replysaid at 8:47 AM on Sat Jan 26 2013
@Metabad Please, SSM's theme trumps it. ;-D
Replysaid at 8:12 PM on Sat Jan 26 2013
@TheVengeanceKnight Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. Either way, nobody's going to remember the SSM theme 40 years from now like everyone does the 60's theme.
Replysaid at 8:19 PM on Sat Jan 26 2013
@CatsTuxedo Considering Jeph Loeb is currently doing everything in his power to make sure that SSM never existed, you're probably right. :-(
Replysaid at 7:37 AM on Wed Aug 21 2013
@Metabad I totally agree with you about this show's theme song. For me, it's just the definitive song I associate with Spider-Man. Heck, the PS1 game made it even cooler in some respects. This song is to Spider-Man as Danny Elfman/Shirley Walker's themes are to Batman, and John Williams to Superman.
I wish creative teams working on Spider-Man would do more to keep it relevant, fun, and stylish like the PS1 game did, it's too good a song to let it die.
I also have to agree with CatsTuxedo about SSM's theme, that song was mediocre run-of-the-mill boringness compared to this!

@TheVengeanceKnight It has nothing to do with that (if that is even true), the tune of the original will always be done, most people can still remember the lyrics to this one.
Personally I only remember the "Spectacular, Spectacular Spider-Man!" part of the Spect's theme

@PsychicVoiceSpy SSM opening was annoying compared to this

@PsychicVoiceSpy This show's tune also played in the credits of Raimi's first SM film as well. A nice nostalgic touch IMO.

Sad to say, I find It really Stilted and Bland now.

I feel the first season is the most successful attempt at telling Spidey stories since they do focus more on the Daily Bugle crew (something that nowadays is just missing or rarely brought up).
Honestly, I prefer this over the 1981 solo cartoon (which was pretty depressive most of the time).

I do know I really am not like the majority, hence why I tend to point out stuff like this, just so others can understand me a bit better.
