@Soul-dragon This will be the last one done by Saban though. The rights went back to Toei after they finished it.

As for Doki Doki itself, I'm pleased with the cast already. Hope Debi gets to play a Cure this time!

Saban's come a long way since they first worked in Digimon. They're better about localizing series now, even keeping the setting of Japan and foreign names. Glitter Force is a very unusual step backwards for Saban, with Americanized names and not keeping the Japanese setting. But other than that...the dub isn't that bad? The casting is great, the dub score is one of the better ones I heard, and the plot and characterization gets across better than dubs like Yugioh or Sailor Moon. Really, I'd say the biggest problem with the dub is humor. Ther're bad about shoehorning in humor during the more serious or dramatic moments. It ends up making the dub come across as more of a parody than a localized dub.

It is a shame they felt a localization treatment was necessary at all though. Precure is made with the aim of being accessible for kids all around the world, so even an uncut faithful dub would have had no problems getting aired for kids on tv. Canada's dub of the first series would have been a better approach to take - localizing the names, but keeping the Japanese soundtrack and being a faithful dub otherwise.

I for one was disappointed that when they dubbed it, they changed the title and the characters names. May they burn in hell.

@Sega_Kuro1000 Alright now that's a bit extreme (or maybe you're just exaggerating? Probably.)

@Sega_Kuro1000 Blame Saban, they're the ones that hadn't learn to leave the Japanese names be, so does the accuracy of the scripts.

@Emikodo It's better, if you don't piss of Pretty Cure fans with this. Unfortuantely we know it, too.

@Emikodo The target audience has a much wider access to the internet than they would've had fifteen years ago when this sort of whitewashing was not as known to the general public and thus "acceptable". So that said, it's a safe bet that hardly anyone today will be using those names without irony.

@UK-Otaku

I actually checked out this hackjob of a dub just because I saw it on her Twitter, & thought exactly as yourself.

@UK-Otaku I apologize for my crassness earlier, & I also gotta mention that, being dubbed by Saban, as well as having Debi Derryberry, this dub is actually most likely one of the few unionized dubs today.

So, girly. I'm sorry, look I don't have anything against shows geared towards a juvenile female demographic, but after having seen the show, it's kind'a hard for me to sit threw. To me it feels more like a parody of those kind of shows than an actual show itself.

Although I did like some of the dialogue and the voice acting itself is pretty good.

@Troodon2 actually, PreCure in general is a parody of the Magical Girl genre

@Troodon2 If you aren't familiar, Magical Girl genre is basically the Sailor Moon sort of show.

@Domayv Precure is actually a straightforward magical girl series. It's the dub that went for the parody approach.

If their's one thing I can give credit for this dub is that they really used Keith Silverstein's vocal range to his full advantage.

I mean yeah it's still a Saban Americanized hackjob of a dub but I felt the dub cast had a lot of fun and fit their roles well.

If only they could do a uncut dub with the original names and terminology now that'd be great.

@Autovolt that actually would be a great idea, though this would involve Saban partnering with an anime company like what Nelvana did with Geneon for Cardcaptor Sakura (which involved selling two versions, the original uncut version and the Cardcaptors dub, and it worked). In this case, Funimation would be the most likely client to partner with, since, out of all the anime companies, they seem to know Saban the most (Ocean dub DBZ and DBZ Kai on Vortexx). At the very least, Saban should stream the uncut version on Crunchyroll because even 4Kids did that with Sonic X and Yu-Gi-Oh!.
