If they were going to release Shin Chan and Doraemon in English speaking countries they should have just had the original Japanese voice with English subtitles in my opinion. I grew up watching these two shows as a kid when I was growing up in Japan and I can say that it`s a lot better to watch these shows with the original Japanese voice. This is partly because the shows have a lot of Japanese cultural references and I feel that a lot of these references get lost during the dubbing process.

anyone watch or hear about Shin-chan's new dub from LUK International?

Watched a bit of the dub... not as good as the others we've heard but regardless nice to see additional Shin-chan eps in English.

@Fortenium That's pretty cool. I wonder what sort of VAs are on that dub.

@huzaifa_ahmed afaik Red Angel Studios (a group that does Animax dubs) is the group hired, since they also did the LUK version of Doraemon last year

It's a shame none of the movies ever got dubbed. Some of them are better than you'd ever expect for Shin Chan movie, though I suppose the style of dubs we got for them wouldn't have really worked anyway.

I have actually heard this in Spanish the most. It would be on the TV if I'm ever in the North of Spain.

@CatsTuxedo That's because the dubs are done in different regions.

While I've never seen this show, it's kinda cool how the Vitello dub went for famous VAs who specialize in Western animation instead of leaning on stock anime dub VAs like companies like Viz Media and Geneon did. Kinda makes the Funimation dub look cheap by comparison.

@Cat's Tuxedo The early Vitello/Phuuz productions actually were cheaper productions produced for the European and Australian markets. Yeah the voice actors in the Vitello version were good, but the Funimation ones sound much more funny (the Phuuz dub...that one is hard to find)!
