I was finally able to watch this show thanks to Toonami. And I must say this…

This is an amazing anime. I definitely recommend it.

Coming to toonami? Oh Yeah! Love this whole show minus the last 5 minutes. Gives me another reason to watch Toonami other than Space Dandy.

Gurren Lagann is, and probably will be during the future, one of the best animes so far that came out in the anime industry, balancing out the majority of Narutards, Bleachtards, and Onetards (in case you didn't know, I was referring 'One Piece' as this; still a better series than the prior two franchises I mentioned earlier) and tends to end up as an excellent series. I've first heard of this series only because of the various references on YouTube, and I had to check out the real thing myself... I WAS damn surprised at what I came across! TTGL has, and is not limited to, a distinct art style, an amazing plot for just 27 episodes of raw entertainment (most can agree that the conclusion of the eighth episode was incredibly sad all due to one event: Kamina died!), actual Giant Robot fights that seem to be less of a hindrance than that of Neon Genesis Evangelion, great character development (take that, Shinji Ikari... Actually someone can progress a bit faster at times.), and the less important of all, but I'm still addressing anyway, exceptional voice acting... Interesting to note is that I slightly preferred the dub to the sub, which I've also done on some other anime shows/movies such as Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, Fullmetal Alchemist, and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and I usually don't care about the "Sub vs. Dub" wars that keep going on since it's pointless opinions... But yeah, they gotta keep those to themselves, and so do I. In the anime industry, it's fine with me if a franchise that originated in Japan comes to the States, just as long as it isn't dubbed by a certain company, and by this, I mean 4Kids... And don't get me wrong, they have a passable voice cast, but their bizzare editing skills are just notorious for being just lackluster, it makes me cringe when I see stuff such as a blue Mr. Popo.

But I'm getting off topic here, and to end it, I just wanna say that Gurren Lagann is just a near-perfect anime for me, and I'm glad Gainax made it... Those drug-implanting geniuses!

^ Just a heads up for everyone who hasn't watched the series, there's a HUGE spoiler in this block of text that I was foolish enough to read, it totally ruined one of the episodes for me. In fact just don't even read any of the reasons for why the show or these characters are favourited, TURN BACK NOW, WATCH THE SERIES AND SAVE YOURSELF!

"Gainax has made one of the most epic animes ever made. Kamina is a inspiration to us all and Simon is the definative comming of age hero."
