This anime was really cringy looking back on it. I would go into huge detail but PsychicVoiceSpy explained it much better.

It definitely needs a reboot. With the DMC 3/4 cast.

Seeing the voice cast for the Devil May Cry anime makes me worry about any possibility of BlazBlue Alter Memory being dubbed. It would be GREAT if Funi gets the video game voice cast for the show. I think at this point those guys cant really be replaced well enough for fans not to notice.

 4 Shout Outs!
This is one of the absolute most disappointing anime I've ever seen in my entire life. I thought the idea of turning Devil May Cry into an anime was freaking awesome, and at first I really enjoyed it. The way it shows Dante's day to day life when there's not a world-ending scenario was pretty cool and Reuben Langdon was great (the fact that he got to drop an f-bomb on occasion was nice). Heck, several of the ADV cast members were very good in this (even if I wasn't crazy about the casting for Lady and Trish).

The look of the animation was cool as well. From what I remember the music was okay too... and that's all of the positives I have.

Everything else was absolutely boring, lazy, uninspiring, and just plain disappointing. They could have told a much better story in thirteen episodes. Even though the animation may look sharp and cool, it was extremely lazy. And the theme song's guitar was annoying too.

The fight scenes usually consisted of shaky cam shots of Dante shooting a demon with his pistols as if the animators were having a seizure, and the shots were so up-close that you could barely even see what was happening. There was no thought, no fight choreography, no effort, no anything put into most of the fight-scenes in this show.

Patty was the only side-character that was decent and they just stopped giving a crap about her role and after the first few episodes. It was like her only job after the first few episodes was being there in the background. Lady and Trish had abysmal roles that amounted to just about nothing, and their dialogue from what little I can remember of it was horrible.

If the fight scenes had been animated with some level of quality fight-choreography and not just resorted to claustrophobic shots of Dante shooting his enemies at point-blank range or some other equally lazy crap, and had writers that tried and cared about making a good story this might have been a real gem. Unfortunately, nearly everything about this show was a disappointment and it made me genuinely angry how lazily it was made.

It's too freaking bad too, they could have made a good show for fans of the Devil May Cry games and even something that could interest new-comers who had never even heard about them.
