We get Cartoon Network in Canada now. I've caught several episodes while playing Pokemon on the couch. This show... it's unpredictable. The stories, characters, dialogue, and designs are all totally strange yet creative. I've got to wonder what goes on in the animators' and writers' minds. It's like a toned-down, American version of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo.
I love it.

I'll be brief.
Someone on deviantart looked it over, thought it was overrated, explained why he didn't think it was all that, I agree with him on the most part.

@Sarge Ray Its not overrated persay, its more of it has really good episodes amongst some really average episodes.

This show..I thought I was going to HATE it. But it's kind of funny! I never thought I would be drawn to a cartoon like this! :)

I first came to Adventure Time because of a fondness that I found for the Regular Show, and as I wrote earlier - I think the two shows compliment each other perfectly.
Add the fact that both shows rely heavily on untested or relatively unknown voice actors and you have two breakout successes.

@Dangeresque To be fair, some of these voice actors do have previous experience: Miguel Ferrer, Maria Bamford (Barnyard), Jeff Bennett, Tom Kenney, John DiMaggio, Dee Bradley Baker, Lou Ferrigno (Hulk in all of the live-action movies), Thurop Van Orman (Flapjack), Jessica DiCicco, Hynden Walch, and Keith David.
