The most recent entry in Namco-Bandai's beloved RPG series, Tales of Xillia, will at last be made available to players outside of Japan. This was announced during a fan conference held by the company at Japan Expo. The Tales series is known for having trouble with localization internationally, with many entries remaining exclusive to Japan (the first in the series, Tales of Phantasia, took 10 years to reach western shores). However, with this announcement and the recent release of 2009's Tales of Graces in western regions, it would appear things are looking up.
According to the franchise's official British Twitter page, further details like release date and language options are limited. An English dub seems likely, but considering the series' past history, don't expect it to be unionized.
On a related note, it was announced previously that Xillia would be receiving a sequel. At the moment, there's nothing about an English release for it, but it would seem safe to assume that it'd be based on the success of the first one.
Xillia will be a PS3 exclusive, just as it was in Japan.
