NEWS - Steve Blum Now Holds World Record!
Reported by TylerMirage at 1:20 AM on Thu Jun 7 2012
Steve Blum was treated to a nice surprise recently when Guiness World Records awarded him with a certificate recognizing him as the "most prolific video game voice actor", with 261 credited roles as of May 10, 2012. Some of Blum's video game roles include Grunt in Mass Effect 2 and 3, Orochimaru in the Naruto games and, of course, voicing Wolverine numerous times, amongst many others. Congratulations, Mr. Blum! Well deserved!

Awesome for Blum. And to answer questions who as the most voice acting credits. According to this website, Mel Blanc nearly has 1,000. Frank Welker, who is still alive, has 893, I think.

Is there a record for most voice roles?

@pete That's a good question. Seems logical to have a title for that, seeing as there's one for the much more specific 'video game roles'. But other than numbers I've seen online, I don't think that Guiness has an "official" record for it.

@NCZ Yeah but Steve Blum is climbing up real fast and will likely tower both of my favourites mostly Blanc.

@I_am_onlive *If* Blum ever reaches that high, it probably won't be for a few years at a minimum. :) He's extremely prolific, but it could take a while to reach the likes of 900-1000 like Welker and Blanc.

@I_am_onlive He would have to remain in the business for another 20+ years at least if he wants to catch any of those guys.

IT was at that moment Blum's name was legally changed to Nolan North

I told him that he is the most prolific voice actor and not Jennifer Hale. When the people got the message they researched and then believed it. This award is most deserving to Steve Blum.
