Reported by Foxwolf at 9:39 PM on Fri Oct 5 2012

The mobile game franchise Battle Bears is set to become a half-hour episode animated TV series. The developer of the games, SkyVu Entertainment is teaming up with Wildbrain Entertainment (Yo Gabba Gabba!), who will produce a full season of episodes.

Battle Bears has been downloaded over 18 million times on iOS and Android devices and is a 3D shooter that combines violence and humor (for example, the blood depicted in the game is rainbow colored). The series will aim to target a male demographic between the ages of 9-15 years old.

The games currently feature a number of unique bear characters, each with their own personality and the cutscenes already feature voice acting. The plot of the TV show is expected to follow six Battle Bears, as they travel to a remote pink planet, only to find out the many dangers that lurk there. The bears use their skills to save the day.
