 1 Shout Out!
Best in the series yeah, because the game play at least is fun this time... by my GOD is the story Bad. No not bad, HORRIBLE!

In my op: FFXIII was already the worst written story to begin with, the characters are not really that relatable, nor even likable, seriously Lightning considers genocide at one stage. NO HERO DOES THAT! The gameplay is atrocious and the hallway... OH LORD WHY!? Watch the Spoony review for more details, he hits the nail on the head all the time.

FFXIII-2 though slightly improved gameplay and you get Noel and Caius, the story is even more scattered and the hallway isn't THAT much bigger.

Then FFXIII-3 aka Lightning returns... yeah, best of the trilogy in terms of gameplay because again, it's fun... but the story is beyond friggin stupid! It makes no sense, there's real character development, a few deus ex machina moments and oh lord I hate it.

I feel really bad for the voice actors because even though their performances are really top notch, not even they could save this franchise. Lightning was a better character in Dissidia 012. A fighting game for God's sake XD.

When I think about it, to me Final Fantasy IX was the last FF masterpiece. FFX really didn't age that well and you can see the flaws and the characters weren't that impressive either... except for Rikku, Kimahri and especially Auron-OH GOD HE'S AWESOME!!! FFXII Oh that was so close to a great game. If they went with their original idea which was pretty much all fleshed out with Basch, Balthier and/or Ashe in the lead instead of forcing Vaan to be the lead and tweaking the game play to be great instead of ok, we could've had another FF IV, VI, VII, IX or even VIII in terms of quality.

FFXIII was a nail in the coffin for the FF franchise. It is just horrible.

Ok, rant over.

Final Fantasy 13 has been going on for six years 2009-2014... i'm surprised they have not made a new series. I would love to see Final Fantasy 7 get a remake. But speaking of the game the quality is 5 stars, and the voice acting is superb. (You should see some of the VA they hire for this series)

@Gatch 2009 - 2013 is more accurate since LR came out in Japan in December.

Also, FFXIV was released not long ago, FFXV is in development, and an FFVII remake isn't happening any time soon.

Sorry, I probably sound nitpicky.
