NEWS - Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV Official Movie Trailer
Reported by Foxwolf on Mon Jul 25 2016

Before the next Square Enix RPG entry hits consoles in September, Final Fantasy XV will receive a prelude story in the form of a full CG animated movie titled Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV.

Ahead of it's release, PlayStation has released the official trailer, which stars the Hollywood voice talents of Game of Thrones' Sean Bean and Lena Headey, and Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul.

Here's how Sony describes the game:

The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the sacred Crystal, and the menacing empire of Niflheim is determined to steal it. King Regis of Lucis (Sean Bean) commands an elite force of soldiers called the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king’s magic, Nyx (Aaron Paul) and his fellow soldiers fight to protect Lucis. As the overwhelming military might of the empire bears down, King Regis is faced with an impossible ultimatum – to marry his son, Prince Noctis to Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae (Lena Headey), captive of Niflheim, and surrender his lands to the empire’s rule. Although the king concedes, it becomes clear that the empire will stop at nothing to achieve their devious goals, with only the Kingsglaive standing between them and world domination.

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV will get a theatrical release in select theaters on August 19th, 2016 before being available on the PlayStation Store on August 30th.

 1 Shout Out!
The trailer really shows off Sean Bean and Lena Heady, and it makes me really wish they were able to reprise those roles in the video game. I didn't hear much of Aaron Paul, but I think the role's good enough that he could pull it off.

Too bad there aren't any theatres showing this in Toronto. Would love to see this on the big screen.

I feel like I wasn't as excited for FFXV as I should be, but since the March event, the Brotherhood episodes, and all the trailers I've seen from Kingsglaive, I'm starting to feel it. I've heard good impressions of Kingsglaive so yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing it.
