NEWS - Fate/Zero to Receive an English Dub
Reported by on Fri Feb 8 2013

Aniplex of America has confirmed that the anime series Fate/Zero will receive an English dub from Bang Zoom Entertainment (who also worked on other Fate media) and be run on Neon Alley's anime streaming service for the Playstation 3 and X-BOX 360. They previously made the Japanese Blu-ray boxset available in the US via import, but only with English subtitles. Fate/Zero is a prequel to the Fate/stay night anime series, which was originally licensed by Geneon and is now being re-released to DVD and Blu-ray by Sentai Filmworks, who also released the series' film, Unlimited Blade Works in the US on DVD and Blu-ray. There is currently no word on a North American home video release for Fate/Zero.

Aniplex also announced that Kari Wahlgren will be taking over the lead role of Saber, who was previously voiced by Kate Higgins in the original Fate/stay night series, and by Michelle Ruff in the Unlimited Blade Works film. Crispin Freeman will also replace Jamieson Price as Kirei.

In addition, the voice director will be veteran voice actor, Tony Oliver.

The entire cast is as follows:

Kari Wahlgren as Saber
Matthew Mercer as Kiritsugu Emiya
Bridget Hoffman as Irisviel von Einzbern
Crispin Freeman as Kirei Kotomine
Patrick Seitz as Assassin
Marc Diraison as Tokiomi Tohsaka
David Earnest as Archer
Doug Erholtz as Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald
Grant George as Lancer
Lucien Dodge as Waver Velvet
Jamieson Price as Rider
Johnny Yong Bosch as Ryunosuke Uryu
Dan Woren as Caster
Liam O'Brien as Kariya Matou
Kyle Hebert as Berserker

Aniplex of America is also streaming an English trailer:

 1 Shout Out!
I'm predicting Magi and Sword Art Online will also receive English dubs and premiere on Neon Alley in the future.

Garden of Sinners would be cool too.

Matthew Mercer lands the lead. I believe its his first anime lead and what a character. Biggest surprise in that cast is the inclusion of Mark Diraison. Is this project a bi-coastal recording at NYAV post? I'm interested in who is cast as Maiya Hisau. My long shot bet is Monica Rial, assuming its recorded at Bang Zoom and she did say she did stuff at the studio.

@akersaotome It's all Bang Zoom. Marc Diraison appears to be doing some work in LA.

In one of her panels at a con late last year. Can't remember the name of the convention. I did say its a long shot but it would be a nice surprise. A woman of her talent should be doing V.O in L.A.

Is there a reason why certain characters didnt get their original voices back? such as Grant George as Archer? do you know

@SLEDGERAID I know Kate Higgins didn't return for the Unlimited Blade Works movie because it was a non-union production, and she had already gone full-union, so a recast was necessary. For this, either she was unavailable, or it was a creative change (since this is obviously union given Kari Wahlgren and Crispin Freeman are involved).

The character Liam O'Brien voiced in Fate/stay night is a different Archer and not in this series. The Archer from Fate/Zero was voiced by Grant George in Fate/stay night and Unlimited Blade Works.
