That's the main problem with these kinds of adaptations: They always try to adapt a pre-existing story. And since it's trying to adapt AN ENTIRE SEASON of a TV show that has an OVER-ARCHING STORYLINE THAT SPANS ALL THREE SEASONS, they were inevitably going to screw something up.

Why can't filmmakers of these adaptations (this applies to video game-based movies, too) just make a movie that's set in the same universe and uses some of the characters from the series, but make it a completely new story altogether?

You know, like a sequel/spin-off to the original show/game/whatever instead of just a watered-down version of something we've already seen.

@Bauglir100 The real problem, is that the film and M. Night Shyamalan ignore everything that makes the cartoon fun. it takes itself so damn seriously. none of the characters (except Zuko) are recognizable.

@Bauglir100 Not attempting to follow the original plot to a T would've still earned the wrath of angry fans and purists. It's the same conundrum that every manga adaptation has to endure.

@Scrappy-Fan92 They could've just made a new story set in the same universe, though.

The Latest Reason is genius. XD

But seriously, this film pales compared to the TV series. A shame, because I actually like the actor they got for Aang.

 5 Shout Outs!
The names - wrong
The characters personalities - wrong
The story - wrong

Basically they got everything in this movie wrong, wrong, wrong, WRONG!!

(Although I get a kick out of how they pronounce Aang, lmao)
