The voice acting is ANNOYING, the characters: annoying. The constant pop culture, ethnic and racial stereotypes and attempts to try and buy off the success of Finding Nemo-GAH!
How do I know this movie rode on the success of Finding Nemo? It uses the same "vegetarian shark" shtick, but tries to make it a plot point. In Finding Nemo, it was a JOKE that wasn't even around that long. Using it as a plot element? Won't work.
And, to think, this is supposed to be a children's film, yet it makes constant references to mob movies like "The Godfather", "Untouchables", and "Goodfellas" (i.e. Robert DeNiro as one of the sharks). What kid would GET these references?
The only thing I remember remotely liking was Will Smith and, let's face it, he's Will Smith: able to take some of the stupidest lines and make them sound cool.
This is considered, by many, to be one of Dreamworks Animation Studios' WORST movies, right up there with Shrek III.
I don't even know what to say anymore. It's just BAD. I have no idea as to how to give this movie ANY form of dignity.
My advice? Watch "How to Train Your Dragon", "Kung Fu Panda", or "Shrek"/"Shrek 2". Just...stay clear of this movie.
