Echoing most people's sentiments here by saying that this movie is Foodfight! tackled by a more competent staff; it satirizes Disney and Pixar works specifically in the process. That comparison and the whole worker mistreatment controversy aside...

I was let down by Sausage Party. It's not *awful* by any stretch, but more often than not many of the jokes provided didn't sit well for me and you can tell the team behind this product were trying way too hard to push that R rating (to the point where the profanity thrown into the script felt forced). Me not finding the movie a riot has nothing to do with the particular brand of humor either; over the years I've learned to appreciate pretty much all forms of comedy. At the end of the day it's all in the execution as well as timing, and SP didn't quite land those marks the way the writers intended.

On the other side of the spectrum, the voice acting's great and the same can be said for the film's presentation. Not to mention there were a couple characters that didn't come off as unlikable (e.g. Barry, Teresa the Taco). Also that orgy scene after the climax... See it for yourself. No words, man.

This had the potential to be a sweet ass flick. Its premise sounds cool on paper and the aforementioned animation quality and cast performances are nice to look at alongside hear. Unfortunately SP was nowhere near funny as expected plus the attempts at subversion/deconstruction were off. Better than anticipated, yet not good enough.

Despite what you may think of the movie itself and ignoring the apparent (and frankly saddening) behind-the-scenes drama, you gotta' give this movie props for a.) making economical use of its voice cast and b.) showing the Vancouver gang some well-needed love!

"They're eating children! F__KING CHILDREN!"

That was my favorite part of the trailer when I saw it.

Out of all the animated films I've seen, this is the first time I ever see an animated film become rated R.

@Anthonyiscool64 What, never seen the South Park movie or Team America?

@immblueversion Oh, wait, Team America is puppetry. Though I guess you could still call it a different kind of animation, considering it involves moving the inanimate.

@Anthonyiscool64 Killing Joke? Akira? Tons of JP animated films are R-material.

@huzaifa_ahmed I knew that too, I just wish I can delete this comment I posted back in August.

@huzaifa_ahmed What I'm trying to say is, I'm not making a big deal out of it being R rated, I'm just saying It's the first time I've seen a cartoon animated film rated R. When the film was in production, I originally thought it was a kids film at first. That's why I mentioned about it being rated R, that's all.

So apparently a bunch of the Ocean VAs have bit parts in this.

That's... interesting.

@SpongeBat1 Yea, I heard Lee Tockar as the toilet paper that goes "You don't wanna f*cking know" and Sam Vincent and Ian Corlett both stuck out like sore thumbs as a couple characters

legit, don't be fooled and take your kids to see this. It's anything but kid friendly.

@Regomania There were quite a bit of parents who took their kids to see the Deadpool movie (which I still plan to see someday in the future) so I just think that just like with Deadpool that there will be complaints from parents.

I initiallly thought this was a kids movie going in. Was surprised when I found out it was an adult film. And then I preceeded to laugh my ass off at how funny the trailer was. This is basically Food Fight done right IMO.

The trailer for this was hilarious! I did not expect this to be an adult film with there being cursing in it.
