I love how the voice cast reminds me of A Monkey's Tale of how they are both French animated films with English dubs of big name actors (with in A Monkey's Tale they were all British big name actors and this uses American) and a handful of the Ocean voice cast (with Paul Dobson and Micheal Dobson also voicing in both movies).

So the home video release for NA just came out, and they recast/redubbed a few characters with celebrity voices. It's... a mixed bag to say the least. Because the lip sync for the english version was done on the original cast, and many of the new lines/reading from the celebrity replacements don't match the sync, and some performances aren't as strong as previously.

Rob Lowe and Patton Oswalt are the replacement Sohone and Mox voices, and they do the best of the new cast. There's a couple times the sync issue occurs, but not nearly as often as others, and their voices at least match their designs.

Christian Slater takes over as Leeyoon, and he does okay some times, and other times they really should had gotten him to read the lines over again. Eg. There's this part where the character is in quiet shock, but Christian yells/raises his voice, not matching the emotion of the scene.

Jeff Dunham takes over as Phospho, and honestly it's completely forgettable. Not bad but not good either.

And finally Ed Helms takes over for Spleen, and it is seriously the worst >_> Not only does he do a bad job in comparison to Brian Drummond's original take, but his performance/lines are the most out of sync in the new dub. Which makes watching his scenes the hardest out of everyone's.

Honestly, it'd be less an issue if one had the choice of selecting the original English dub, but it's not even offered.

I have to say it's pretty neat to see an Ocean/Blue Water hybrid for a western animation dub, of a French animated movie.

I like that the two main leads are voiced by some newcomer VA's, I'm hoping these two continue to get more work as they actually sound very good.

I like Necross's voice most, that is a great evil scary voice.

I'll have to check this film out when I can.

Not that I didn't expect it from the Ocean crew, but man, those are some fantastic performances!
