Dub was solid, but lip-syncing could have been a bit better. Not their fault that it was one of the few anime that had proper lip-sync, but still.

After watching this movie a few times, I don't really feel all that hooked to it. Perhaps I ought to play Final Fantasy 7 to get a better grip on the story. Aside from that, the battle scenes in this movie are what got my attention, as well as the character models and attention to detail.

@Leviticusaurus747 I highly recommend that you play the original. I haven't seen Advent Children yet, but playing through the game should clear up many of the plot points and really let you form a bond of sorts with the characters. Besides, it's an excellent game.

@Leviticusaurus747 The Directors Cut Advent Children Complete is far superior. The CGI's improved, scenes extended and more detailed dialogue. literally went from ok to incredible. Some of the English VAing in my op is still bland, where as others are just show stealing freaks of nature XD.

Also, playing the original game would still help out a lot.

@Aussieroth Disagree that the Director's Cut is better. I'd like it better if it didn't have things like that pointless stretched out Turk chase scene, the HORRID pep talk from Zack that enabled Cloud to defeat Sephiroth which completely changed the meaning of the whole scene, and the unnecessary replacement of the perfectly good end credits song.

As for the dub, I think the only true failings are that Cid's voice could have sounded better and Andrea Bowen should have been Aerith rather than the Moogle Girl. Mena Suvari wasn't as bad here as she was in KH2, but she's still really bland.

@Aussieroth Advent Children Complete was okay and the Geostigma disease being shown in more graphic detail made the children even more sympathetic than in the original, however the Forgotten Capital chase/fight scene was far better-paced in the theatrical version and not to hate on Aaron Refvem who is a fantastic young voice actor but Benjamin Bryan will always be Denzel to me.
