After watching this movie a few times, I don't really feel all that hooked to it. Perhaps I ought to play Final Fantasy 7 to get a better grip on the story. Aside from that, the battle scenes in this movie are what got my attention, as well as the character models and attention to detail.

@Leviticusaurus747 I highly recommend that you play the original. I haven't seen Advent Children yet, but playing through the game should clear up many of the plot points and really let you form a bond of sorts with the characters. Besides, it's an excellent game.

Also, playing the original game would still help out a lot.
