I really can't decide whenever I "like" the book or the movie more. Both are so bad that they are just so much fun to riff on XD

 1 Shout Out!
Truthfully, I'm probably a bit fond of this movie. I never did read the full book (got through one chapter but never continued), so maybe that's why I'm not harsh on this movie like most others, even if it's not good enough as a movie itself.

That said, I think the absolute BEST part of the movie is Saphira herself. Not only is she another addition to the somewhat short list of movie dragons (live-action, anyways), but I think the design and casting were pretty solid. I like the sleek design, and Weisz's (humana humana) performance was a great accompaniment to it. She's probably the first dragon I think of when I think of a memorable movie dragon, even (and I'll get hate for this) Draco from Dragonheart, who despite perfect casting, didn't leave enough impact on me overall. I remember more from Saphira.

Perhaps because I'm just a big dragon person at heart (sort-of pun intended), but even flaws and all, and a lot of them even from my book, I don't think I can bring myself to say I could ever HATE this movie or even dislike it much with that one element standing out.

 2 Shout Outs!
Most people probably know better then I do, but this movie left a lot to be desired. I understand that when making books into movies you have to remove a bunch of stuff, but this movie just took it way too far.

Oh boy, it's the feathery Saphira who's nothing like the book Saphira.

@Dogman15 See, and I *love* Saphira's movie design. The book design is all right, but this one looks so beautiful and feminine.

@Dogman15 The book description of Brom here somewhat makes me laugh:

"Brom has a long white beard, silver hair, a carved staff, an elven ring, and a pipe."

I can't help but feel that he reminds me of, gee, another popular fantasy character. (*cough*Gandalf*cough)
