Haters gonna' hate about the title. I believe there's an expression about books and covers that's applicable here. :p They could've called it "The Pod", "Size Doesn't Matter", "Leaf Men" or "The Adventure of the Leaf Men" and people would still be complaining. "What a lame title! Couldn't they think of something more cool?"

Personally, I think the title fits quite well. A film's title should entice the viewer, but not have the movie be judged solely from that title. Sure, "Epic" might cause people to turn up their nose to it based on the current cultural use, but I highly doubt that was the intention. They wanted something that would make the audience ask questions. "Why is it called that? Perhaps I should watch it and find out."

"Epic": a piece of prose depicting the events and adventures of heroic and legendary figures or the history of a nation. *le gasp* That applies to this flick. "Epic": grand in SCALE or character. Shocking! Applicable as well. Or gosh, despite the overuse of the colloquial definition of the word, think of the story from the POV of both the forest characters and the human characters. The massive humans live in world that is monumentally large and alien compared to the forest characters, aka, epic in scale. Yet conversely, the intricacy and detail of the forest life could also be considered "epic" to the human world, despite its diminutive size. Both worlds could be considered epic by both worlds.

And yes, by the above logic, there's a lot of movies that *could've* been called "Epic". But there weren't, so this film got it. Generic? Sure. Fitting? Absolutely.

@TylerMirage Personally, I don't actually mind the title of the movie itself. To me, that the least of my problems with this movie.

My dad doesn't want to see this movie simply because of the title. Man, for the worlds most frequently used word, it seems to carry a lot of hate.

Can anyone think of an even lazier title than this? Because I'm really having a tough time on that.
