"All Dogs Go to Heaven" began Don Bluth's gradual downhill slide into mediocrity. On paper, the concept of a self-centered dog getting a second chance at life to redeem himself sounds good. The problem is that Bluth doesn't seem to know where he wants to take the story, as it feels like a series of sketches threaded together in a hurry. It doesn't help, either, that Charlie B. Barkin is the most unlikable character in the movie... to the point that it's hard to care when he makes his act of redemption at the end.

"Yes, it has a lot of flaws, but it also has a lot of heart and some wonderful animation."
