Members - You Can Contribute News Directly To BTVA

In an effort to get more exposure and more news on the BTVA site, members can now submit news that (upon approval) will appear in BTVA's news section and possibly even get promoted to the BTVA homepage!

How do you do this you ask? It's very simple. Log in and visit your BTVA profile by clicking your avatar or username in the top right hand of the site. In the left-hand menu of your profile, you'll see a link called "Reported News".
This page will give you some guidelines (also listed below), a form and some tips on adding news.


Conditions for Submission
- Must provide a source for the news in the form of a website link.
- Articles must be relevant to the content on BTVA.
- No plagiarism, ie. do not copy and paste an article from another website. You must write at least a paragraph of content in your own words. You may copy some content from the original article but must quote it and label it as such.
eg. As quoted from the original article: " ... <quoted text> ...".
- Family-friendly content.
- Written with correct grammar and spelling.
- Unbiased content. Simply report the news. Your opinion can be shared in the Comments area.
- Make sure an article featuring the same news does not already exist on the site.
- Do not post spoilers in the headline, teaser text or preview image.
eg. OK - "New character to appear on the Simpsons"
NOT OK - "Batman to appear on the Simpsons"
- Any news articles that does not adhere to these conditions will be removed.
- BTVA reserves the right to edit article content (eg. fix a typo, add a hyperlink to text that links to another page on BTVA)

Recommendations for Submission
- Whenever possible, please link text within your article to their respective pages on BTVA to allow readers to follow the link to find out more information.
eg. If you mentioned "Frank Welker" in your article, you would add "http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Frank-Welker/" as the page link for the text "Frank Welker". See below for guidelines on how to add a link.

How To Get Your News Article Promoted To The BTVA Homepage
- Upon review, articles that are well written, have a credible source and are determined "news-worthy" will be promoted and will appear on the BTVA homepage. They will also be posted on our Facebook fan page and Twitter account.
- If promoted, you will be credited and labeled as the reporter on the article.
- Promoted articles cannot be edited.

Family Guy Creator Seth MacFarlane to Host Next Year's Oscars.

Great idea for aiding the site.

Especially considering all of the time staff have to work on submissions, it obviously takes away from doing so when you have to search for news to keep other interests rolling.

Cool. Yeah, that's all it really is. I don't expect people to go out of their way but if you read something on a site and think it's related and worth sharing here, then great!

@MrFennoy - so while we appreciate you submitting the Seth MacFarlane news, we did find that the text you submitted came from a comicbookmovie.com article. as mentioned, it's okay to quote some text from an article, but a portion of it needs to be written with original wording. thanks.
